Tin hat in for this post:

Whilst we should 100% be taking the 3pts away at Livingston, I genuinely thought we played well today. We absolutely peppered their box with crosses and shots. Their defence and goalkeeper had the game of their lives.
If the match ended 8-2, I don't think anyone could say it flattered us. Now, I understand that the result was very different. However, there have been (very recent) times gone by where we've really struggled to create after going a goal behind and never even looked like scoring.
2 points dropped, yes, but happy with what I seen from the team today.

Depends on how you look at it. Last 2 games, we took 4 points. Hearts took 3, and Celtic took 3. I'm just happy that we are even in the equation after the RM disaster at the start. Keep the faith, brothers.

Constant high balls to the keeper. Tiring. Needed a new approach, or at least away from keeper.

22 Feb 2026 21:53:39
We were shocking today.

In the last 3 games, we have 5 points.

In the last 3 away games, we have 3 points.

You can use stats that show us to be better or worse.

22 Feb 2026 22:01:19
Souness, should have been 3 points today, mate. Created plenty: 10 shots from inside the box, 21 outside.

22 Feb 2026 22:03:23
Storm, take your point about stats & points.
For me, on the eye, if we had pummelled Livi on the scoreline today, then nobody would've batted an eyelid.
Sometimes, you just have one of those days where you come up against a keeper and a defence who have an incredible day. imo, today was that day for us, and we still clawed back a point.

22 Feb 2026 22:13:15
Mystar, agreed it should've been 3pts. I'm pretty confident that if the game was played another 9 times, then we'd have come away with the win.
Sometimes you come up against a defence and a goalkeeper for whom everything goes right on the day.

22 Feb 2026 22:27:08
Another stat - 10 domestic away games under Rohl, and 5 draws. You can't be drawing 50% of away games and be winning the league.

22 Feb 2026 22:46:00
Storm, it's just not the case that we were shocking, is it?
We battered them. Like the OP said, the keeper had the game of his life, and defenders threw themselves in front of everything. They only had a few shots and scored with 2 of them. Even their after-match interviews were about riding their luck, and that was after giving up a 2 goal lead.
I get you want better, we all do, but it's all very reactionary to the results. We played miles better than a lot of games we've won, but nowt was said then.

A draw against Hibs away; they've just beaten our biggest rivals for the second time. A draw against Motherwell away; we've had 2 draws and a win against them, and most people say they play the best football in the country. Let's add all the points up in a couple of months and we'll see where we are, but what a great season. I don't want us winning the league in March or Celtic winning it by 20 points. This is how it should be, a competitive, exciting league.

22 Feb 2026 22:59:36
I really don't think we were shocking today, and think that's an over-exaggeration.

Obviously, conceding 2 goals against the bottom of the league isn't great, but we should have won that game today and created enough to win, unlike Hibs and Motherwell. Livingston barely had a sight at goal all day, but managed to take their chances.

Like Souness said, if we had won with that performance and taken our chances, nobody would bat an eye, but we didn't. 2-2 against the bottom of the league is a very poor result, but I don't think it was a shocking performance.

22 Feb 2026 23:31:22
Baz, it's very simple to say we were shocking. I watched the game, mate. If you think that's fine, then fair doos. Shooting aimlessly from outside the box. You can have loads of shots on target, but not one shot from outside the box forced the keeper to make a good save.

Chermiti missed another sitter, and a lot of people that got all high and mighty last week about him are very quiet this week. He was murder today, and I have said he has been improving, but today the sitter cost us, and the one against Motherwell cost us.

That's 4 points alone. I know he isn't the only one, as I couldn't pick out many that had a good game other than our left back. Our wingers were terrible. Souttar was horrendous, can't believe he has got another deal and a wage rise to boot.

Games against the bottom team you have to win, plain and simple.

23 Feb 2026 00:40:30
Miovski and Moore both had shots from outside the box that forced a good save from the keeper. We only had 10 shots from outside the box; the other 21 were inside the box.

23 Feb 2026 00:55:16
Yes, Tav, I said 10 in and 21 out. I just noticed that. We win that game 9 out of 10. I really don't know where the 'shocking' is coming from.

23 Feb 2026 03:18:36
We were poor up until the score changed, and then we became desperate for the remainder of the game. Unable to break them down (as usual), they were able to move their players around to create gaps, and we were forced to launch hopeful balls into the box for most of the game.

That said, there were still enough chances to win the game if we had a striker with a bit of composure.

23 Feb 2026 04:38:56
First half was up there with some of the worst I've seen. Olson reminded me of Lammers today; he took a heavy tackle, and then didn't want the ball again. Gassama slowed everything down to a crawl - if you're going to beat your man, then do it; if not, keep the ball moving.

We absolutely created a lot of chances in the end, some pretty good ones. I think we had 3 shots cleared / blocked close to the line.

I hope we go two up top next week. I have the fear if it's Chermiti up top on his own.

23 Feb 2026 06:54:30
Bazbear, I do want us winning the league in March, my friend, because I'm only interested in Rangers being successful, my friend. ?

23 Feb 2026 06:54:53
Guys, how obvious is it that when we up the pace moving the ball from back to front we look so much better? - Fast attacking play against Hearts proved ideal, but back to tippy tappy across the back four and poor, speculative Tavernier crosses was all we could muster for large parts of yesterday. - Only when we scored did intensity increase. That intensity needs to be there all through the game, or worse will come. ? - Far too many touches on the ball from our back four. Let's take 3-4 touches each when the ball needs pinged and moved faster - plain to see.

That said, Gassama was a headless chicken, Imho, and his final ball is/was woeful, and Chermiti ends up isolated - he needs someone close by at all times. - Biggest joke is VAR on Mm - how that is not a stonewaller I can't answer. - Are Dickinson and the VAR crew in fear of the "always cheated never defeated brigade"? And how a critical, fair decision could have been turned against them in press/media from certain factions due to the constant paranoia - I thought VAR was there to get to the 100% correct, fair outcome - Imo in this specific case it has obviously failed.

I do get your frustration, Storm, I'm frustrated too, but I'm not sure it was that bad. I remember shots that pulled good saves from the keeper, and after that stunning finish for their goal, they had something to defend and flooded the box. I do agree that Souttar really struggled with the wind and surface, but that's a team fighting for its life with a new manager bounce. They were close to taking points off the champions two weeks ago, and had a good comeback after being 2 down early last week.

These three away points could be terrible dropped points, or 3 valuable points. We'll find out in May. Sir Walter, I don't want us winning in March, pal; this is the best season I can remember for ages and the Glasgow Giants have had it their own way for too long. Bring it on.

23 Feb 2026 10:01:22
Storm, yes, Chermiti should do better with his chance. Raskin, Moore and Tav had easier chances. But let's ignore them.
