It was the way we dropped the points to 10 men that p***** me off. Chermiti missed a sitter that would have made it 2-0 and game over. He is living off the coattails of the old firm game and should never start again along with the sulking Gassama. bench warmer at best and tav and his giving the ball away and wanting to take every set piece is drastic improvement is a must and it starts with the manager.
Don't be that trophyless manager, DR. you've earned this title - dont blow it by picking imposters

Chermiti isn't the issue. The distance between him and our other players is a major issue. Our back line and midfield need to play far higher.

How can Motherwell play nice, tight, controlled football like they do with a fraction of our budget?

J-zer, no amount of distance missed that sitter last night. He's a dud, pure and simple. He should have been sold when we had the chance.

He was the issue in a one on one with the goalie, and he fluffed it twice.

Next, you'll be telling us he was too far from the goal with that chance he should have scored with.

Nah, he was too close.

Not posting as much this weather, but thought I would put my opinion of last night and pretty much the last few league games. With the exception of the Kilmarnock game, I feel the last three league performances have been pretty average. Maybe pressure is getting to them, as they are more or less a young group.
Celtic have that ability of winning when playing poorly, as we drop points when not playing well.
Mentality issues? Possibly.
Onto last night's game, and I felt the first ten minutes we pressed ok, scored, then started to press less and were hemmed in by a decent Motherwell side. Still concerned by the gaps created on our left when Megholma goes forward.
We can't seem to plug the gaps left by that by our left midfielder and centre half.
The midfield trio were industrious, but they don't control the midfield the way we need to.
And the forward three were pretty non existent and unable to make the ball stick when it went up top.
I, like many, was pretty despondent when their goal went in, but it was deserved over the piece.
We can still make a fight of this, but performance levels need to get much higher, and hopefully the new guys get match fit so we can start to play our best team. It starts with a must win game on Sunday.
Let's hope we can take the game to them from the off.

No, I'm telling you, regardless of who plays that lone front man role in this team, in this system, we will struggle. I'm not saying Chermiti should be first choice, and yes, he should have taken that chance, but the fact remains we were played through too often, and we made very little in the way of openings.
That wasn't a one off, we've been the same all season.

Whatsmyname, they had a pre-season to get players used to it, whereas we had Martin at that time, and Danny Rohl came in and has had to develop a style with 2 games a week. Not using as an excuse, but as a fact.
Someone else said they hadn't made many changes to their squad (which I haven't checked), so that gives stability.
I remember their manager was getting grief in the press at the start of the season, as they started with 5 draws, and there were complaints about the style.
Now people are raving about it.
