Think i will reserve my excitement re beating Celtic to the league title and handing them two beatings in next two matches. seems we have forgotten they hammered us for the first half at theirs and could have been out of sight before we came back in the second half.and that was with Nancy.

They now have a coach who has been there and done it numerous times and he could quite well get enough of a tune out of them. Our history is bottling it so i am staying positive and hoping but not being cocky!

That was at Parkhead, and you are always going to come under the cosh for part of the match. Totally different game at Ibrox.
We outplayed them with 10 men at Hampden under ONeill, and could easily have nicked it.
But yes, i agree nobody should be c***y.

Definitely not assuming anything, but playing well and at home, so it's an opportunity in both the league and cup.

10 Feb 2026 07:29:00
We need to be at our best to win both.

10 Feb 2026 08:34:58
One game at a time, lads.

10 Feb 2026 09:10:43
Home advantage against the Tim's will be massive for us???

10 Feb 2026 09:33:27
I'm not sure their Nancy was any worse than our Martin! Different borough, with decent managers in charge. It's like watching Star Wars with our managers, our young Luke to their Yoda. ?

10 Feb 2026 10:32:10
Need to beat Celtic by 2 or 3 goals, otherwise the refs/VAR will play their part.

Keep the head, and nothing silly, as it will be used against us and in favour of that mob, as usual.

Our squad now has more depth than theirs, which gives me confidence. Anything can happen in OF games, seen too many where we were firm favourites only to lose on the day.

I reckon we will win both, cup tie might go to ET.

10 Feb 2026 12:25:00
They've not beaten us over 90 minutes since the first league meeting of last season. Most of that under Rodgers, who apparently is a decent manager. Grounds for optimism, I think.

10 Feb 2026 12:52:49
Tin foil hat on, Ally? ?‍♂️

10 Feb 2026 13:07:02
We all know how these games can go. I'm feeling more assured with dr and our squad, but ultimately it's whoever performs on the day. Will be a massive confidence booster if we beat Motherwell and Hearts, sitting joint top. Beat them once, then another confidence booster for the Scottish Cup tie a week later.

I would normally be in agreement with the sentiment here, but I just cannot contain myself. I am feeling very bullish about our team right now.

We look so big and strong in games, I have no worries about any physicality from our league at the moment.

We also have so much depth in our squad, we don't look light in any position, with options to pick from every game. I cannot remember the last time that was the case.

I believe we have everything in place to be a dominant force in the years ahead.

10 Feb 2026 13:52:21
True, but i also think you are forgetting we hammered them second half, and looked often the better team with 10 men in the cup, and that it was also an away game, while these two are at home.

Sep 2023 was last time Celtic won at Ibrox.

Have not beat us since 2024 League Cup, and we all know the dodgy decision that day.

10 Feb 2026 13:53:24
But I agree that I would still wait to get excited, as you can never predict these games.

10 Feb 2026 14:28:12
As much as we've looked better recently and changed some of the fortunes of our results, it was only 9 days ago we were toothless (to put things nicely) against Hibs.

I get some of the excitement that we are starting to play better at times, especially after where we have come from having to deal with Russell Martin. But the swing from worst Rangers team to overconfidence of some on this site after a few good results can be laughable at times.

We are moving in the right direction and hopefully go on to win the title and cup. But we have a recent history of bottling it when things get important, and I really hope DR is the man to overcome that. But I feel there are a few more twists and turns to come, so we need to stay behind the team.

Celtic have been absolutely rank, by all accounts. O'Neill and his luck has to run out at some point.

10 Feb 2026 15:51:18
I get where you're coming from, Top, and in previous seasons would agree with you. But not now. We have the best squad in our league right now, and that's what wins leagues.

In previous years, our squad was always reliant on a few individuals, on whom we over relied upon, played too much, and had no alternatives in the event of injury. That's no longer the case, and the most exciting part is the new owners are not going to stop here. We will continue to strengthen from a strong position.

If I look to our rivals, I see a lot of problems that we have had in recent seasons.

They have the weakest squad since we came back to the top flight, a temporary manager, and a haphazard recruitment policy at best. That sounds all very familiar as a Rangers fan. Could go either way for them, but as we have seen, it's much easier to get yourself in a mess than get out of it.

That's why I am bullish, and I also make no apology for it, because as Rangers fans we should always feel that way about our team. After so many years of doubt, I am glad it's coming back.
