Matondo no ambition at all just interested in wage going into bank the guys one of footballs failures.

03 Feb 2026 07:02:43
Apparently we're trying to terminate his contract.

03 Feb 2026 07:35:00
He wants it fully paid up. Alleged interest from turkey for him and Bajrami.

03 Feb 2026 07:35:53
It's easy to say but end of the day as it's been pointed out before someone was sldaft enough to pay him silly money he'd be even after to go and work for a fraction of that.
He knows the gravy train stops in June so why not ride it for the next few months.

Another point I'd add is that he's still contracted to the club and available to play so we might even need him if we are unfortunate with injuries etc.

We pay his wages - so get him fit and on the park where any DECENT footballer would want to be and get him in shop window? - not a ghost hovering in background picking up a wage for doing very little - let's hope we have learned from the past and don't make similar mistakes moving forward - pay top dollar for those special players and only those who work hard and earn that respect and wage - his wage alone could have funded 3-4 players of better skillset and attitude - rant over ?.

03 Feb 2026 08:11:33
apparently he signed a contract for a set period at a set amount and wants to abide by that contract. not sure I would be any different. before you comment on him ask yourself if you would be.

03 Feb 2026 08:58:56
Yeah Angus I don't particularly blame him for sticking with his 28k a week. You never know that's maybe why DR let Curtis go out as he feel he can use Matondo.

03 Feb 2026 08:59:32
Blue he walks in four months for zero, I certainly would not give him any minutes, I'd rather see Glasgow, Lawson involved.

03 Feb 2026 09:00:38
Angus agree contract wise, but the guy is a wage thief, just pay him off and boot him out the door, no respect for the timewaster whatsoever.

03 Feb 2026 09:59:22
The trade off for Matondo is that yes, he will collect his bag of silver. However, if Wales make the World Cup, no chance Bellamy is taking an injury prone forward who has had under a minute of first team football in 10 months.

He could have moved (potentially for less money) and got first team minutes to be ready for the World Cup. He chose not to do that, and I think that's why some people have an issue with him.

trueblue, so if your company said to you, we don't want you anymore, but don't worry we have found you another employer who will pay you half of what you are getting now. would you say brilliant thank you so much or would you say sorry no i have a contract with you and until you fulfil your part of the contract i am not leaving.

03 Feb 2026 10:12:23
Glasgow is 16 in a couple of weeks John, 22/2, just had a look after you mentioning him, you'll probably already know this mate.

03 Feb 2026 10:27:56
Angus think the sticking point is probably akin to hiring someone who hasn't done their job when available and is usually off sick. ?.

03 Feb 2026 10:43:13
treble. yes he has earned what was agreed with him; not sure if that makes him a wage thief. There have been reasons he hasn't been able to play whilst he has been here. In jury being the main one but then when he has been fit managers just don't want to play him it seems. He has ability although others may disagree. I would want my coach to find a way to use that ability in the squad at least so he wasn't earning for nothing.

However I now agree 100% with John; give time to our players who are going to be with us to build for the future.
