There has been some good discussions about pressure in jobs and I feel that actually is quite a good debate.

Many jobs in world football are pressurised for many different reasons.

So what Job in world football do you think is the most pressurised?

I have been thinking the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United some of the Italian Jobs but I am going to go for Watford.

Even doing a good job can get you sacked.

Chelsea - mainly for that mental levels of finance they throw at everything and the appearance of micro managing from behind the scenes.

Chelsea or Man Utd.

Absolutely chelsea for me ?.

I think it would be Real Madrid.

Can't even begin to imagine the pressures they operate under.

Real Madrid is by and far the most pressured job in all of sports.

Real madrid 100%, the english clubs can win the league and Europe is a bonus. Same in italy nowadays also although there is massive fan pressure to perform domestically.

Real madrid will 100% expect their coach to deliver champions league each year, realistic or not.

Real Madrid was an obvious choice I felt, likewise Manchester United and the likes of Milan and Roma.

I mentioned Watford as a way of bringing in other factors into the discussion.

Nottingham Forest, Lazio, Dortmund, Galatasaray all pressurised in different ways.

I would like to add Boca Juniors and River Plate to the Extreme pressure list.

I think any player or manager would reasonably happy to work under the pressure of trying to be a winner. the real pressure comes I reckon when you are at the other end of the table and not winning. despite everything you try you still can't switch the momentum.

rather be at any of the big clubs with the pressure of winning than at the other end.
so don't envy the pressure guys like Pressley or Robinson are under at the moment.

Pressure isn't bring worried if you lose your job and get a multi million pound payoff by the United or Chelsea pressure is playing for a few hundred quid a week where maybe a win gets yiu a bonus. i'd tske pressure from a big club every dsy.

01 Jan 2026 22:42:32
Dont see any pressure at man united, amorim has still got a job, don't know how but surely his time has well passed.

01 Jan 2026 23:04:43
Ignoring the elite clubs for a moment. Watford probably one of the least pressure jobs because u know when u go in u won't be there for long regardless. I'd say Rangers job is one of the most pressurised as there an expectation of success even in Europe without the finances to go with it.

Also having British media gives a constant comparison with England despite being like a whole different planet.

Aphelion, I agree. I've worked with many Argentinian guys and they are mental about Boca and river. If you think the old firm is toxic, watch a derby there. Shootings are commonplace. Stabbings are normal and expected. I've seen them with bats and bottles going at it. I'm glad Scotland is much safer. It'll be entertaining at the weekend. Let's hope for a result.

A wise football manager once said pressure is when you don't have enough money to feed your family, not football.

02 Jan 2026 06:15:21
One of the main reasons i chose chelsea was they chased winning the champions league for years and it was their holy grail ?Then Roberto Di Mateo wins chelsea their very first ever champions league as their manager and they sack him ?I also remember them sacking carlo ancelotti after winning the double ? and they just in general sack manager's early willy nilly ??.

02 Jan 2026 08:03:01
Forest Green Rovers - all the usual football pressures of a lower end, budget limited team but also within the constraints of veganism ? (forced to wear green I thought a little too shallow?)

02 Jan 2026 09:19:55
Nice one Ewan ?? wouldn't touch that job with a barge pole.

our board may not pressure us as much for euro success and national dominance like Real Madrid but our fan base can bring a lot of pressure comparable to most clubs - look how it ended with martin - would it have been as intense at Man United or Real Madrid - guessing South America and Italy and some other leagues would be intense maybe worse - just saying we can be a very tough crowd when it is not going well.
