We need a goalscoring midfielder he scored 0 last season. Sorry this signing is taking us backwards 3 years. Thought we had a plan in place to unearth gems not sign players Bournemouth don't want.

Bournemouth didn't want defoe and he have us a turn. The world of football is littered with players other clubs didn't want but who were successful. Can't ask for signings thdn be critical without seeing him kick a ball for us.

Every player signed can't be an unearthed gem it just doesn't work like that.
We need experienced guys that will help these young players develop into sellable assets that help the player trading model.
Its only 1st July, plenty to be done before the 1st game.

Lambert, It seems you're not very happy with Rangers signing good players, am only wondering why, we need players with experience as well as well as quality and Aarons, Coady, Rothwell have it in barrels loads in leagues levels up from ours.

If Rothwell was that good he would not be coming to us. There are only about 40 teams in England who can outbid us. Why are they not jumping on this?
We already have 2 overpaid underperforming English players at the club in Tav and Butland. We should be getting rid of those type of players, not bringing in more.
Shocking start from Thewell and Purdy, hope they have much better up thier sleeve. Otherwise it ends poorly for them and leaves us in the same mess we only just started to fix last summer.
Thewell failed in his first task which was to keep Koppen at club by giving him a pathway to promotion. Instead he brought in his mate and they are spending a fortune on English journeyman. Hardly impressive is it.

No I'm not otters I just don't want to go down the old boy English route. Most come up here thinking its easy and end up leaving with their tails between their legs. Just because I don't agree with me the signing policy doesn't make me a Celtic fan. And I'll continue to sat this for us to win anything we need to replace guys like Tavernier, Soutter and Jefte. These guys simply ain't good enough.

you have no idea who wanted to sign rothwell, maybe a shot at european football and trophies is what tempted him to come here.

Rothwell played DM last season which might be why he didn't score but had 4 assists. year before he was a 1 in 4 midfielder in league, granted only played 16 times.
Just relevant stats not a defence of him as I like to see how players settle and start to play before writing them off as poor.
good news is it won't be anyone on here who decides if it ends poorly for anyone at Ibrox. this time we might give the people a chance to move the project and the club further forward.

So many teams over the world is completely different to teams he has been playing against for last 10 years. If he were that good those teams who can afford to buy him if they want could easily do that.
It's only the biggining so I am trying not to jump to conclusions but you cannot deny, if they are confirmed, that our first 3 players have came from the English market. That is a major problem for me because it's not the route to success for us as a club.
Our rivals, 13 out of the last 14 titles in Scotland, very rarely sign these profile of players. They have the model, wether we like to admit it or not, that we should be following and it does not involve bringing in 30+ players from the most expensive market in the world.
I think it's a fair criticism because we have a limited budget and we need to shop around to get value for our money. It's hard work, maybe not as easy as picking up some decent players you know first hand, but that is what I think we need from a DoF and head of recruitment.
Koppen was on the right track, fact we are complaining about making 5 times our money in a year off one of his players shows that. From thier start I am not sure Thewell and Purdy are and have every right to voice my opinion as it's every bit as valid as yours, rather than stupid.
