Wasn't on much yesterday but just scanning down and wanted to add a massive shout out for those that immediately shot down the bigotry. One good thing about his post is it allowed u guys to show it's not accepted so hopefully will stop others. One of the things I love about this site is u don't tolerate it. Wish it would spread to the stands more. Well done and Thank you.

Kaiser it doesn't raise its head often here because it is shot down. It is still in the stands as it is more difficult for the sole fan to challenge it as they don't know if others will support them in that challenge. that is why it needs to be the club. one day perhaps.
15 Jun 2025 08:06:12
Well said Kaiser, there's just no place for it. Especially those who pretend it's just banter, but get offended when it's the other way. I'm all for intense rivalry, but neither half would be as world renowned without the other.
15 Jun 2025 08:08:52
I'm against bigotry completely, i thought it was just a tongue in cheek comment about him being a Celtic fan because he isn't signing not that the original poster didn't want him to sign.
15 Jun 2025 08:43:08
Think a lot of folk refer to Celtic fans as Tim's rather than the actual religion side of it.
15 Jun 2025 08:54:57
Tav123 I know it may well have been but the fact any hint of it was shot down is encouraging. ?.
15 Jun 2025 09:08:03
OP could easily have explained himself if he thought folk had taken him the wrong way.
15 Jun 2025 09:15:39
I am with Tav, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was referring to a Celtic fan as opposed to anything more sinister. I think he just didn't phrase it well to get that across. I didn't want to say that yesterday encase I was the one that has the wrong end, I was hoping he would come back and clear that up though. Oh and for the record I 100% agree with calling out any kind of discriminatory behaviours and if that was the case he deserves all he got and more.
15 Jun 2025 09:26:19
I refer to them as tims. They call themselves tims. there's even used to be a group of school children called the thai tims. Nothing in it imo.
15 Jun 2025 09:31:16
Ye good point fair enough.
15 Jun 2025 09:54:03
Wasn't so much the Tim word, as that's used all the time but rather that they shouldn't play for us. Could have cleared it up. Chose not to. Says it all.
15 Jun 2025 09:55:02
Most die hard Celtic fans will only
Relate to being called a tim
And I know plenty that will reb tunes blasting from house on match day or if they are on the bevvy.
15 Jun 2025 10:04:48
Rusty just the same as me if am talking to a friend that supports them I always call them tims.
15 Jun 2025 10:05:23
The issue is that there is something in it a lot of the time. a bit like calling us huns and then lazily claiming that has no sectarian feeling behind it (yes I know there was a court case but there is a difference between meaning and sentiment) . I know a few Celtic fans and none of them call themselves Tims nor me a hun. we have reasonable discussions about all things football without any ill feeling. don't care what anyone else thinks though as I think it is wrong and will continue to call it out.
15 Jun 2025 11:17:44
Lots of knickers getting in a twist yesterday over nothing. They are Tim's end of and they are happy to be called Tim's. Tongue in cheek comment.
15 Jun 2025 12:02:42
Maybe fifepl, but main point was happy folk on here won't accept the bigotry and the sites all the better for it. If called out wrong fair enough but much rather that way.
15 Jun 2025 12:13:31
It wasn't "bigotry"!
15 Jun 2025 13:02:11
It wasn't about the tim part, it was that we didn't want him because he was a tim, which is just nonsense. If you were watching the sports part of the news tonight and Brendan Rodgers said "we didn't want him anyway because he's a hun" you would all be giving it, can you believe what he just said.
15 Jun 2025 14:01:20
Your spot on Boyblue4. Unwanted by Rangers because he's a tim. Great player but . absolute bigotry.
15 Jun 2025 14:18:33
Kaiser bigotry seriously. If that's bigotry the old firm rivalry is gone . To many people going woke these days. Not interested in bigotry myself but thar was never bigotry.
15 Jun 2025 14:23:00
Actually sitting poolside in majorca just now and showed the comment to two Tims sitting near me and they burst out laughing at it not offended and agreed they are Tim's.
15 Jun 2025 14:44:16
While some Celtic fans may be happy with the term, it has historical and ongoing negative connotations, especially when used by those outside the Celtic fanbase. so a bit like when it is acceptable for a black person to call themselves the N word but not acceptable for those outside the group to.
nothing to do with being woke but trying to change all the rubbish which goes around the fixture. you can have the rivalry without the abuse.
15 Jun 2025 15:03:02
Thank goodness some posters on here saw it for what it was a clumsy post that's it, couldn't care less about religion, also agree too many coming to conclusions and getting it wrong, but then again assumptions about people are the mother of all mistakes.
