Question for EHL on Jefte,
You said earlier that if we play to his strengths he can be an asset.
1. What do you think his strengths are?
2. What formation do you think would suit him best?
Personally I think he's been extremely poor but I know he's only 21, learning a new language and culture and doesn't necessarily have a steady back 5 to learn from. I also think he probably should've been a no2 lb coming on later in games etc but through no fault of his own it's not worked out like that.
What I will say is he's very athletic, loads of pace and has been fit practically the full season I think.
Wouldn't be my no1 choice lb for next season but there should be enough there to work with and develop.

I like Jefte, thought he was very good first half of season with some excellent performances in Europe.
He has hit a brick wall in terms of form and confidence and has needed support from left wing, left CB and defensive midfielder. That support has not been there as we have had nothing on the left wing all season and LCB has been a problem position with different players changing constantly.
Under Clement DM was basically doing too much already to support him, under Barry we have just abandoned the left side of the team at times.
While his form has been poor it's hardly the conditions under which a young inexperienced player would thrive. I think that he will prove a lot of doubters wrong next season if we can improve what's around him.

Sws, jefte can't beat a man or cross so he would be just as useless further forward. He's not good enough, I think we're just going to have to cut our loses and move on.

Jefte will only improve cc, barely kicking his career off but he was better in the earlier part of the season, but not as a first choice lb right now.

Jefte is garbage, simple as that, a complete scare of a defender with poor concentration, poor positional awareness, no physicality for scottish football and offers next to nothing going forward, but yes another season and he'll be better-delusional.

See the good news here is that the fans won't decide on any player. that will be left to the new manager and the club. it is how it should be or we would have no players left except for Raskin as no one is good enough. the bad news is the new manager will still use them in formations the fans don't understand and use them in sub appearances which will be baffling.

I like Jefte he's a positive lad. But he has nothing in attack or defence. Only the middle and makes terrible decisions and poor passes. Not to mention at least 6 goals on him!
Need a starter with him back up and development. He could come good for sure.

He's a very attach minded full back that has a lot of pace and running power.
A back 4 that holds a high line optimises his defensive attributes and playing with a right footed left winger who drifts inside creates the space for his attacking attributes.
Typically how we were attempting to play at times earlier in the season, when we seen the 'best' of him.
Sitting deep with noone playing ahead of him like today just isn't for him. If anything Nsiala is more suited to that role.

So when we had a manager who set the team up like Clement. so to get the best out of him that style is needed and tbh a lot of our other players by the look of it.

Certainly think that there is a player in Jefte, but remember that he is 21 and living in a different country i don't know what personal support he has although I expect the club tries hard to look after him.

Why do we keep using excuse he is young he 21 look around some teams youngster are 18/ 19,if he has not learned basic defending by now, he never will.
