Looking forward to todays game after yesterdays result, let’s get a bit fire in the belly and give them something to think about!

I’m not getting too carried away but it’s the first game this season I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. A lot more aggressive, both pressing and tackling, and moving the ball far quicker back to front.
Great team performance, greedy I know but I wanted more goals. Well done Dessers too he deserved that goal.

Ally22 normally I'd echo your not get carried away but I was so shocked with the difference in that team and the forward first thinking it blew me away today.
Really enjoyed that game.

First time poster here bears…
Early days but my views on our squad right now is.
The performance was poor by any standard, but what’s glaringly obvious to me is that mob are far superior as a squad than us.
Keeper has sealed his demotion today and Gio has to shoulder the blame on a few aspects. Goldson needs a rest, far too many touches before moving the ball forward, yes forward. imagine that! Injuries/ situations have scuppered us defining a secure centre half pairing leaving us with Sands as back up. His efforts are commendable but lacks positional sense and the ability to move the ball forward without cutting back. When able I’d like to see Souttar/ Davies partnership.
Midfield is not mobile enough, relying on Davis at his age is not forward thinking. We look a bit stale with too many knowing their position is secure. Signed Matondo for R/ W and not settled but think Wright has done not bad when played. Kent is a different level when he can be bothered but again has no competition for his position.
Alfie brings a different style and can be a huge asset, unfortunately his head seems all over the place every transfer window and that has to stop. Colak has been brill but again early days.
Are we stronger this year compared to last? I would say definitely not. Still buying bargain basement while finally getting good fees and CL qualifications.
Gio has big decisions to make coming up but Let’s see where we are when all players are fit and available and silly season is now finally over.

I agree mate gio has too drop goldson and try a defense of tav souttar davies yilmaz instead of the same old every week we won't know how it works if we don't try it I'd have let goldson go as someone in live chat says he's never had a suspension that says it all for a defender.

I’ve always wondered why Barisic was not considered as LCH (never mind Katie/ Baligun) considering we signed Yilmaz. Granted he needed time to settle but I think Gio is just as stubborn as SG. Goldson has been terrible for a long time and is too slow moving the ball. hopefully Souttar and Davies are not too far away.

It's not gio who has a decision he's left with a squad most on here felt was 2 or 3 players short the decision is with the board are they able to fund the building of a team because that's what's needed. Cdltic spent 6/ 7 m on Jota we spend 1.5m on Rabbi.4/ 5 m cartr vickers us a free for souter the point quality costs and we haven't spent enough.

Agreed Storm, granted we have the player improve and sell model that seems to be our target each year. However we have 100% regressed. Hindsight and crystal balls are great but we have made a huge error in not selling our, and I use this term loosely “assets” when stock was high. Kamara signed and we refused the offer…makes you think was Gio told sell if you want but you won’t get the money to spend? Something wrong within the club and a real lack of clarity coming out from the club.

Weak…we are weaker than last seasons team yet brought in millions from sales. The CL money takes care of everything else (which we didn’t know) yet we still went bargain basement IMO. Defence weaker, midfield position ally stronger but Davies and Kamara are stale and have been for a while. Tillman needs more time but only seems to have 55 mins in him at best. We have not got a RW and Kent is an absolute passenger with no competition. Contract situations need addressed and the club take a stronger stance, sign or sell and replace. On current performances we would not be worse off if we took that stance.
