First time poster here bears…

Early days but my views on our squad right now is.

The performance was poor by any standard, but what’s glaringly obvious to me is that mob are far superior as a squad than us.

Keeper has sealed his demotion today and Gio has to shoulder the blame on a few aspects. Goldson needs a rest, far too many touches before moving the ball forward, yes forward. imagine that! Injuries/ situations have scuppered us defining a secure centre half pairing leaving us with Sands as back up. His efforts are commendable but lacks positional sense and the ability to move the ball forward without cutting back. When able I’d like to see Souttar/ Davies partnership.

Midfield is not mobile enough, relying on Davis at his age is not forward thinking. We look a bit stale with too many knowing their position is secure. Signed Matondo for R/ W and not settled but think Wright has done not bad when played. Kent is a different level when he can be bothered but again has no competition for his position.

Alfie brings a different style and can be a huge asset, unfortunately his head seems all over the place every transfer window and that has to stop. Colak has been brill but again early days.

Are we stronger this year compared to last? I would say definitely not. Still buying bargain basement while finally getting good fees and CL qualifications.

Gio has big decisions to make coming up but Let’s see where we are when all players are fit and available and silly season is now finally over.

I agree mate gio has too drop goldson and try a defense of tav souttar davies yilmaz instead of the same old every week we won't know how it works if we don't try it I'd have let goldson go as someone in live chat says he's never had a suspension that says it all for a defender.

I’ve always wondered why Barisic was not considered as LCH (never mind Katie/ Baligun) considering we signed Yilmaz. Granted he needed time to settle but I think Gio is just as stubborn as SG. Goldson has been terrible for a long time and is too slow moving the ball. hopefully Souttar and Davies are not too far away.

@Newmanager agreed it’s only September…. and yet we are 5 behind already. Regardless of our run coming up, can you see that lit dropping many points? I hope we don’t but it’s a high possibility.

It's not gio who has a decision he's left with a squad most on here felt was 2 or 3 players short the decision is with the board are they able to fund the building of a team because that's what's needed. Cdltic spent 6/ 7 m on Jota we spend 1.5m on Rabbi.4/ 5 m cartr vickers us a free for souter the point quality costs and we haven't spent enough.
