I see now Barry Ferguson saying Rangers should absolutely be offering our right back dujon Sterling a new deal to stay at Rangers 🤔 It's an absolute no brainer says baz and he rates Sterling as a top top player 👌🇬🇧I absolutely agree with baz wholeheartedly 👍🇬🇧.
10 Oct 2026 19:41:35
Let's see if he can make it past January first before we consider it. Agree he is playing well though.
10 Oct 2026 21:41:47
Personally I would be against it.
I would prefer a long term replacement.
Kosta, Skoglund are just 2 options that i would prefer.
10 Oct 2026 19:53:39
I wouldn't be offering him a new deal.
10 Oct 2026 21:40:33
100% he deserves a new deal. Quality player for us, solid at the back.
10 Oct 2026 20:14:52
At the money we are paying him?? and he would probs look for more.
Bring the young lad in ( who I can't spell!) and give him a run.
10 Oct 2026 20:50:18
I'm not sure I would offer him a deal.
I'd leave it til the summer or certainly towards the end of season before deciding.
Our starting rb should be able to play 2 games a week and he can't.
He's been fantastic this season but only few months ago we wanted him gone for couple hundred grand.
Just is still out for me but not on ability. Ability wise it's a no brainer but fitness wise I'm not so sure.
10 Oct 2026 20:56:23
Certainly staying fit just now anyway stevie.
10 Oct 2026 20:57:00
Hes a top player and well worth another deal. Looks to be over his injuries.
10 Oct 2026 21:27:05
Sterling doesn't so much suffer from 'injuries', he suffers from a health condition that requires careful management on and off the pitch.
10 Oct 2026 21:31:56
I for one Stevie G, didn't want dujon Sterling gone mate. 🤔 EHL, if you don't mind me asking mate, why shouldn't Rangers offer Sterling a new deal 🤔🇬🇧.
10 Oct 2026 22:08:19
Depends on the wages we are talking about.
10 Oct 2026 22:24:58
No need to rush. If he keeps up his form then review it in the new year.
10 Oct 2026 22:29:46
Im hearing theve got to the bottom of DS health issues. If he can paly 30 games a season I would sign him up. EHL why would you not want him?
11 Oct 2026 10:57:09
It amazes me TJBB. Sterling shouldn't get a new deal but we should have kept Nsiala and put him in the team.
10 Oct 2026 23:03:05
TJBB, It's certainly isn't his football ability, but we will have folks not wanting him because of the mistake he made away from the game, same people will never have made any mistakes in their life, I'm sure Sterling already has a contract until 2028.
10 Oct 2026 23:21:59
TJBB, there isn't really anything to get to the bottom of, his health issues have been know to medical team for some time, there isn't any mystery around them.
I wouldn't renew as I don't really rate him, don't think he can cope with the demands over the course of a season and I also have reservations on a personal level.
11 Oct 2026 00:06:59
Sterling is currently contracted until May 2028, and we're trying to extend it.
11 Oct 2026 00:37:02
This talking about his salary, we were going give Olsen double Sterling's salary.
11 Oct 2026 01:03:06
I think he's worth 20k a week no problem Sonif he's on 22k then fair enough. Remember we didn't pay a fee for him as well so the wage is fair.
If he can stay got he deserves a contract on the same wage no increase. But we need to wait and see how his body reacts ovwr the winter.
11 Oct 2026 02:34:54
salary Maters my star he is older and injury prone if he's on more than 20k a week it's a massive gamble.
11 Oct 2026 08:03:03
When fit he's a player. He was my man of the match against them at Ibrox.
11 Oct 2026 09:26:12
We looked like a different team without Sterling the 2nd half. He's the 1st name on the team sheet for me.
11 Oct 2026 09:27:47
Rollwithit, Sterling was my MOTM against them at Breeze block boulevard mate. 👌🇬🇧EHL, i honestly thought you want us to sell Sterling because of his injury issues and his wages. 🤔
Entitled to your opinion EHL, but can't understand/agree with you that it's because you don't rate him, 😲 but hey ho that's your opinion that the majority absolutely don't agree with mate. 🤔🇬🇧
So on ability EHL, who for you is the best right back in Scottish football mate? 🤔.
11 Oct 2026 10:13:54
Yep let's not keep one of our best players this season 😂.
11 Oct 2026 10:49:14
Think i remember EHL posting a while back that DS in his opinion, was " Not a very nice person" Fair enough EHL, you know him better than me. What i have seen is a togetherness in the squad and Dujon appears to be popular with the players. The manager picks him to play on a regular basis, and he does appear to be managing his fitness issues. Costa looks a good player but with different attributes to Dujon, but i think DS is the better defender.
I would be keeping him purely for that reason. It wasn't that long ago a long serving captain and RB was consistently berated for his defensive deficiencies. Now that we have got what Tav was not, why would we want to sell him? I guess the old adage of you can't please e all of the people, all of the time, is bang on the button.
11 Oct 2026 10:50:02
Sws, our manager clearly rates him highly mate, why anyone wouldn't, that beats me.
11 Oct 2026 12:01:42
We got him for next to nothing so the salary likely reflects the lack of transfer fee. Is anyone prepared to say what the health condition is?
If he's able to play regularly, there is no doubt he is an excellent player.
Maybe he's learned some lessons from the drink driving thing so he should get a chance of some forgiveness.
I'm torn due to the playing time only. Fully fit, he's in my team/squad every time.
11 Oct 2026 11:19:48
What would it cost to buy a player like Sterling in his form just now your talking silly money he's just coming into his prime why would we want to sell him. We should sell nobody unless crazy offers come in we've looked after him all these years he looks like he's trying to pay us back with his performances.
Everyone seen with their own eyes how different we looked without him in the team. Definitely a game of two half's yesterday they we won first half they won 2nd half.
11 Oct 2026 11:42:03
I think we can all agree when he stays fit he is some player and makes us stronger defensively BUT all it takes is a wee tweak and he could be out for months he is quite vulnerable to injuries so far he has avoided it and is on a very good run in the team and i agree to buy someone like him right now would cost a few bob depends on the clubs risk reward views.
Saying that any player can get a bad injury and if we dwell on that we wouldn't sign anyone 🤷🏻♂️.
11 Oct 2026 11:48:50
SWS, Christian Borchgrevink or Keelan Adams are the two best RBs in the league in my opion.
Both offer a better balance in terms of what they bring in terms of attacking attributes.
I suspect that as we approach winter football, we'll see less and less of Sterling. I hope I am wrong though.
11 Oct 2026 11:55:37
Wallace due to his wage demands and his injury record not a lot honesty 2-3million probably I like him and what him to stay but Rangers have given injury prone players contracts before it has never worked out for the right money yes but I think in 4/5 games he will no out for a few months again sadly.
11 Oct 2026 12:50:30
That's why it's all about opinions EHL 🤔I think both Sterling and Johnston are a good bit better than the Hearts and Falkirk right backs to be perfectly honest mate 🤔🇬🇧.
11 Oct 2026 12:51:07
Sterling is currently the best right back playing in the league by a mile , the debate about Johnston is moot because he is out injured and not currently involved .Neither Borchgrevink or Adams are currently playing for their respective clubs so its a bit out there to say they are better than Sterling.
Of course we should offer Sterling an extension if we are happy about how his fitness is , he is a tremendous defender and has strength and pace which helps him dominate our right side. Even if we do get an offer, the longer his contract, the more we can ask for .Its a win , win.
