Nicolo Schira (v good source) reporting Gassama in talks with Monza as of 30mins ago

Easy, I understand it is clubs often give players the opportunity to talk to a prospective buyer while the two clubs negotiate the possible fee etc. Helps cut down overall time taken, and didn't necessarily mean a bid has/will be accepted.
You'd imagine it makes the deal more likely though, and if we can get towards £10m for him, it seems a good deal to me. We have Curtis already. So might not need a replacement. But I'd personally prefer one more in if he does go.

Let him go, he's not been good enough for us so far. Had a couple decent games, but nowhere near consistent enough. If we get something like £8m for him, I think that's great business.

Gassama is only going to improve his game, still a younger player with little experience, would need to be a daft offer, over 10m, we need a couple of wingers, selling him, we'd need three signed in a week.

He is with the team in Chekia, doubt he is talking to anyone.
But if they can come up with 10m, they are welcome to him.
Just flatters to receive, very little end product, plus has not learned much since he came, still making same mistakes.

I love how things get said and then repeated. Gassama had 9 goals and 6 assists in 56 games; Mikey Moore had 7 goals and 4 assists in 47. Gassama is inconsistent and no end product. Moore is loved by fans, (not all I know), and wanted back; willing to pay £20M. Go figure.

I do get your point, Angus. I would come back a little with Moore almost 4 years younger than Gassama and would have lots of developing before he gets to the same age.

This one is interesting, as based on so far in 2026/27 start to season, had he come in this year we would all be saying this kid is too good to let go for 10m 😂 - he's been our form player and will probably be the difference tonight in a must win game.
Anyway, I get that last season he was more cold than hot, however, sometimes players need a year to adapt to a new league. I think it's more likely the fact he's getting a run in the position and system he was originally signed for, he's more effective this year?

When a club gives permission it's normally the agent that does the talking as a representative of the player. It could well be true. Just cause Gassama is with team doesn't mean not true.

Moore v Gassama is the eye test, Angus. There is no doubt Moore is and was a better player than Gassama for us last season, despite his stats not being as good, and will be 1 million times the player by the time they both reach their potential.
That isn't a slight on Gassama, as Moore is a generational talent, and he probably held back Gassama's own development, as Gassama is never a right winger.
If he played a full season on the left, I reckon we would be looking at 15-20m for Gassama. If he goes now, I would be looking at no less than 8-10, and if he stays, I would be quite happy. I am in no rush to sell him.

Can remember when we signed Gassama, few players or coaches said he would be a 20 mil player after a couple of seasons.

Seems a bit counter productive to say we need another left winger, sign Kim and then sell Gassama. That puts us back to square one, numbers wise.

He definitely is a 20 mil player, I think, just not yet. If he keeps in form and consistently produces the goods on the park, he will be worth a fortune in the near future.
