Ryan one - no
Vardy - no
Meghoma - a contingency plan but not at the top of the list, we want a permanent, loans to be avoided if possible.
A lot of rumours came out there, but just goes to show even a well respected journalist or a sports broadcaster jumps the gun with chinese whispers that aren't true
11 Aug 2026 20:00:46
So what striker do you reckon, Wullie? 🤔
11 Aug 2026 20:30:31
I really think we need a striker in the mould of Jelevic or Prso. Big, strong, and can finish first time.
11 Aug 2026 20:45:47
Thomas Bobchek.
11 Aug 2026 21:14:10
Vardy would do me. Can still score goals if he gets the service.
11 Aug 2026 21:54:56
I don't really have a problem with Meghoma. I think he'd be fine as a backup. I liked him anyway.
11 Aug 2026 22:03:46
That's the problem, Rfc22, our strikers don't get the service. Still lacking the creativity in midfield.
11 Aug 2026 22:05:51
Back ups are always ok, until your main man gets injured and they are playing 8 games in a row.
11 Aug 2026 22:19:16
Agree, Canada, Shankland will do fine but needs service. Need a creative midfielder and one that makes late runs into the box. Haven't had either since Davis and Arfield.
Also, need wingers or rb and lb that can cross a ball.

Stevie G, there's loads of talented strikers out there, have a look at
Gonzalo Petit
Nacho Ferri
Thalys
Christian Kofane
Agustin Ruberto
That's just a few out there, but our scouts are terrible. I could do a better job than them.
11 Aug 2026 22:42:23
Dino Beljo from Dinamo Zagreb would show intent.
11 Aug 2026 22:45:53
Dino Beljo of Dinamo Zarbred would demonstrate serious intent. 24 year old, 6'5" center forward, 36 goals in 30 appearances in all domestic and Champions League competitions last season.
11 Aug 2026 23:39:51
Nacho Ferri is some playey by the way. Can't see that happening.
11 Aug 2026 23:49:01
Wallace, Kofane is scoring goals in Germany and has mkt value of £40 m?
11 Aug 2026 23:51:38
I fancy this Zagreb lad as well, Bobby.
We won't buy someone, though the finances obviously aren't there, mate.
We missed Dahl cause we had to pick between he and Drago.
Then Dahl was willing to wait again, we had to prioritise a winger or 2 with the funds, so no way we're going to buy a striker when we're still struggling to pick what's more of a priority between the various positions.
Alexander Sorloth would do for me on loan.
11 Aug 2026 23:54:05
Wallace, your scout report includes a striker with an ACL injury, a £30m valued cf who played 44 times for Leverkusen, and someone Feyenoord just paid 7.5m for a month ago.

Tav123, Don't diss Football Manager credentials, us guys are legit!
12 Aug 2026 01:55:00
Let's be honest, whilst we have the current recruitment team in place, we will not progress. We have Thelwell Jr with a horrendous track record, why is he still there? We need a recruitment team that looks to actually strengthen the first team, not constantly buy in projects and possible players with potential.
Yes, it's tough to recruit to us given our current state in winning absolutely F all, but surely we can do better than squad players.
12 Aug 2026 04:31:03
Kiwiger, which players signed this window are "projects"?
12 Aug 2026 06:21:08
Canadasteve, 100% bud - we could have big Haaland up front and get zero goals in umpteen games due to the obvious years and years lacking in the area of decent routine service provided to front men. 🤔
12 Aug 2026 08:05:15
Hi Tav, yes, it's my opinion, but as unproven players
Makhanya
Dragojevic
Yokota
Neil
Maybe projects was not correct phrasing, but given how we finished last season, we needed immediate improvement and upgrades. Yes, the season is still young, but the start is not giving me confidence. You look over at them and they spend a significant sum on a proven scorer which we desperately need. Yes, we have Shanks who will score if given service. I personally feel bringing in a few 20 odd year olds is a gamble for us.
