Sirius reject €3.5m bid from Lecce for Robbie Ure.

Hes now 19 in 18 games

19 Jul 2026 18:45:38
Don't think they'll sell him for that Stevie, top of the league with 9 points and a game in hand, not a team I can remember much about.

19 Jul 2026 18:46:20
Good scoring record though.

19 Jul 2026 18:54:08
I'd think 10m min for the way he's playing.

19 Jul 2026 18:58:52
"A £3.5 million bid from Serie A side Lecce, which included a 30 per cent sell-on clause, was previously rejected. Sirius have now informed all clubs that Ure will not be allowed to leave for less than £8.5 million."

19 Jul 2026 19:16:39
Delighted for the boy! Hope he gets his move to Italy!

19 Jul 2026 19:44:16
And obviously nobody at Rangers was smart enough to put a buy back option which should be in every young players deal we move on that qualify as club trained.

If we were being smart.

But, hey, old board to blame, there not new one.

19 Jul 2026 19:44:32
Remember, Gus, these fees are all in euros, not pounds.

EUR8.5m is the same value as Tromso put on Dahl.

So it's about £6.7m, is that correct?

I'd love to sign him and loan him to them for the remaining part of their season. Then loan him to the Championship in England and bring him back for next summer.

19 Jul 2026 20:20:00
Forever, he left to go to Belgium on a free contract after refusing to sign a new deal with us, then moved to Sweden.

So it would have taken a minor miracle for the club to insert a buy back clause.

Hey ho, any excuse to criticise the club.

19 Jul 2026 20:35:10
Ehl, my thinking exactly, can't put a buy back clause on someone we didn't sell.

19 Jul 2026 21:04:59
Forever, how do u force ure to sign a deal? He wanted out.

19 Jul 2026 21:38:48
Yes, he was offered a deal and wanted out cause he didn't see a pathway.

Quite right og him as he'd be lower division now if he stayed.

He made the right choice. That's why we need to get some co-op clubs around Europe or League 1 in England to farm our young players out to at 19-21.

19 Jul 2026 22:04:27
He wasn't given a chance to show his ability.

19 Jul 2026 22:14:01
Forever must be looking for what is known as the Tillman clause. We get a percentage of his every move. 😂

19 Jul 2026 23:46:18
We done well out the Tillman deal, Der Hammer.

20 Jul 2026 00:06:14
8.7million rots is about 7.4 million pounds.

20 Jul 2026 07:16:20
GMS, not strictly true.

20 Jul 2026 08:02:30
You stop the Youth leaving John by promoting them to first team experiences more often. That's how. We invest more in their development both on and off the field. Make them fall in love with the club but the senior team winning trophies.

Create the desire NOT to leave.

But we don't. We are s*** at it. If that's just slagging the team then, I'm sorry, I don't agree.

We need to increase our standards by a long, long way before we get anywhere near becoming consistent winners of games first, never mind trophies!

This (once again) feels like the last throw of the dice! Certainly, for me, it feels like quite a few on here too.

Perhaps that's the mentality that McInnes will bring. I get that, but that's all that he offers for me, so I hope it's enough and I hope he brings more, for all of us.

So, raise the standards, create the desire to stay and develop and not go for money.

Without fear of contradicting myself, perhaps some will still leave, but more would stay if done correctly. We also need to create better youth.

That's how! That's how you stop them leaving, the Gilmours and Ure's and a damn site more.

We don't do it and our standards need to increase by a considerable distance. Throughout the club.

20 Jul 2026 08:13:28
Aye, GDog, and when we lose because we have no experience on the park and the fans turn on our players, how then do you motivate them to stay another year?

20 Jul 2026 08:47:05
Grog is correct. Ure didn't leave Rangers to join a top club. He left to join the academy system in Belgium (Anderlecht B, if I remember correctly), where they play professionally in the leagues up to the 2nd tier.

It's the same reason a lot of our top talent leave, because they have proven routes into the top leagues.

We don't. The best we can offer is a 6-12month loan at Alloa or Raith.

It's not good enough and until the SPFL looks at serious reforms to implement what other nations have been doing for years now, it will continue the same.

20 Jul 2026 09:50:47
Mystar, we sure did, but each time he's subsequently moved people think we keep getting a percentage, hence the comparison to the Ure situation.

20 Jul 2026 10:08:26
Yes EHL, I know, but these things come about because we don't give youth game time.

Sure, he played and scored in the cup, then was instantly dropped.

This is my real point. We don't give them a fair crack at it.

How many youth do we have to ruin before we learn our lesson?

If we gave him games, he would have stayed simple.

20 Jul 2026 10:10:33
Wouldn't be surprised if Curtis rides bench most of the season if the club is not changed.

Let's hope McInnis believes in youth.

20 Jul 2026 10:15:21
And as I said before, any parent that has a kid at Rangers should make sure they stay for three years at a young age then move elsewhere for gametime and progression so they retain club trained status for Rangers if they want to come back one day.

But ultimately, better development beyond a certain age elsewhere.

Horrible to say, but we all know it's true.

20 Jul 2026 11:16:11
Looked it up, Forever.
Played in the League Cup against QofS and scored.
Our next game was against Celtic in the league.
There is absolutely no chance an 18 year old was going to lead the line.
Though might have not been any worse as we got thumped 4-0!
