Gotta agree on Devlin though. For a free transfer it would be a no brainer; he controlled the midfield in a team that finished above us in the league too.

Much needed midfield depth adding Devlin, whether he's a starter or not, is another question. You know he'll come in and run through a wall for McInnes as well.

I appreciate that fan forums represent a small section of our fan base, however I've come to accept that there is not a player or manager that universally gets our support.
Like all signings, the proof is in the pudding. I remember a number of players who were not initially fancied at Ibrox but fondly remembered as Rangers greats, and also those who arrived to too much hype, only to leave with reputational damage.
I believe Devlin would give his all in a Rangers shirt and strengthen our squad. In light of those who are likely to leave the club, we need depth as well as strength.

Sell Raskin for a good fee and bring in Delvin for nothing. If it doesn't work out with Delvin, then we sell him next summer for profit. Good business move. Probably low to mid level wage so for me it's a no brainer.

Mystar, I only saw the highlights of the Belgium game to be honest, so I can't comment on his performance with them. I don't think he had a great year with us at all, and imo, I don't think he's as good as people make him out to be.

CMac, the Belgium manager knows how to use him. We don't. He's surrounded by top end talent in that squad that makes him better.
His performance the other day changed the game for Belgium, had a line splitting pass, and should've ended the game with an assist if Lukaku scores the header.

Honestly, please, no. Devlin is at best a squad player. We're not swapping out Raskin and replacing him with Devlin unless we're looking for a top 3 spot.
We all have an opinion, I get it, but come on, Devlin? We've gone from hoping for some of Europe's top up and coming midfielders joining to Devlin?
I'm not sure this close season can get any more uninspiring.

Ryan, bud, I was having a bit of a laugh yesterday and think you are a good poster, but to say anyone not wanting Devlin is "snobbery" is a bit of a joke. In fact it's an incredibly poor take.
I don't think we need Devlin. However, I'd take Luke Graham, so how is that snobbery? Is it now selective snobbery? I think Barron has a higher ceiling than Devlin, and a complaint has been we have too many midfielders who are the same, but we're going to bring in another who is the same? I've seen folk crying out for playmakers, tempo setters and goalscorers, but we're going to go sign another "battler" "terrier" etc.
As I've said I'm not completely against it. I won't picket outside Ibrox if he signs. I believe the wages and time used to sign him could be better utilised elsewhere, and I'm entitled to that. I could sit here and say "oh how our standards have dropped if you think signing Devlin is the right call" or "let's be a budget Hearts" but I respect your right to want a player I don't think we need.

Gersready1 I'm genuinely interested where you get your info from that he is a bad apple, the leaks have dried up at Ibrox so how do you know that he has a terrible attitude. As far as I can see he likes it at Rangers but he will ultimately move onto bigger and better leagues when his valuation is met whether he wants to stay or not.
I for 1 like the wee man and if he had better players around him his level would go up like it does with Belgium

Many fans seem to think that just because Hearts finished second last season, or Motherwell had a couple of good games against us, we should automatically sign their best players. While that is mostly a joke, it perfectly sums up the rationale of a lot of supporters.
We say we want a Scottish core, yet we talk about selling a Scottish talent like Connor Barron just to replace him with an Australian. Sure, an Aussie player might understand the league, but do they truly understand the club?
I would rather give Antman, Gassama and Curtis more game time, and another chance to show they learned from last season, as they now know about the demands of the club.
Not all players ever understand or meet those demands no matter how they played for their previous teams.
And, we only have room for 26-28 players in our squad. With limited spaces available, I would much rather give our own young lads a chance as backups than bring in another foreign signing who doesn't offer anything different from what we already have.
Not snobbery but just a different way of looking at the same problem.

If Delvin is better than Raskin, then why has he not been snapped up? Simple reason is he's not. Raskin is a 15 million pound player. Raskin is a great player. Delvin is decent; I would take him as a squad option, but he's not on Raskin's level, and I don't think he ever will be.
