As I said last month, Rangers today have come out with a statement for the plans over the summer for Ibrox.

What I said last month, over the summer there would be some TLC carried out over the coming months but nothing major due to the overall funds going towards the playing squad for both men and woman's team.

What they haven't mentioned is further investment at the training facility.

As i said before there was 4 plans, and it's a real shame about champions leauge football but once the funds are there, Ibrox will be massively transformed.

I do believe it will look so much fresher going into the 26/27 season and your match day experience will be better.

Sounds good, WATP.
Even a good power wash of the seats would've an improvement. ?

Thanks, WATP. Appreciate your info.

There have already been upgrades in the glazing of the Copland and a little of the Main Stand, I know from first hand. ?

01 Jun 2026 20:34:21
They can't invest in upgrade and stadium renovations without effecting FFP. They just have to put the money in if they want to do it.

01 Jun 2026 20:38:53
My seat fell apart at the 2-2 Celtic game and was still not fixed yet (basically nothing to sit on). Hopefully they put a few quid into fixing that in the summer.

01 Jun 2026 20:59:02
Goat boy, investment in stadium infrastructure is generally exempt from FFP or PSR, or no Club could ever afford a new stadium or large expansions and invest in their team at the same time.

02 Jun 2026 01:20:22
I'd be saving the money and, thinking more long term, the improvements I've seen talked about are a bit pointless long term.

I'd be aiming at a new stadium.

02 Jun 2026 07:58:37
Forever Rangers, a new stadium? Sorry, but that to me is completely out of the question. One of the last traditional stadiums with listed building, I will never be in board with moving from our home. Never.

02 Jun 2026 07:59:45
Not for me, Forever Rangers. ? I'd always want Ibrox Stadium as our home. ?♥️ The history attached to our home is incredible, and I'm very proud of. ???

02 Jun 2026 08:32:40
Definitely a big NO.

02 Jun 2026 09:36:36
Just as a talking point, where would this 'new' stadium be built?
Almost definately outside Glasgow, & would need better transport links for starters.
I haven't a clue?
Ideas.

02 Jun 2026 10:07:19
No thanks forvever.

02 Jun 2026 12:07:50
Forever, one word - Never.

02 Jun 2026 12:35:06
They should be looking to tarmac the whole area around the Stadium. It is a nightmare to walk on and a real ankle breaker if you're not careful.

02 Jun 2026 12:47:25
Gjd and others, it's pretty much already happened in the past. The stadium is not the same one my dad and grandad went to, same location and some original parts, but not the same. I'm just someone who is a realist. The stadium will not last forever; at some point, maybe not in my lifetime, it will eventually have to come down or be altered.

Do people think Ibrox is the same as it's always been, or is that just the younger posters?

I'm sure Arsenal fans had the same thoughts about Highbury, but if you were to ask any younger fan now, they would prob feel same about this new stadium.

Point being, we will not always be here, and we should think about future Rangers fans also.

I just don't think it's right having such large waiting lists, with many more fans than that disheartened by the current system to try get a season ticket. It's virtually impossible for most. We go to 60k, Celtic just up theirs to 70 or 80, and we are left making less money than them year on year in future.

02 Jun 2026 12:50:28
So let's just say same place.

The stadium changed once before, I'm assuming most of you are old enough to know our history, so why is changing the stadium in same location any different to it was then?

Celtic built a new stadium on same area, do you see any of them complaining? Or happy with extra revenue, extra seats and potential for growth?

02 Jun 2026 12:56:10
Also, the average lifespan of a stadium before it needs major work or is rebuilt is between 50-80 years.

And, we could always keep the Main Stand as the main historical part and rebuild for more tiers with the other three stands if needs be.

Luckily Project Regen is in motion then! Read Jim Gillespie's interview from a few weeks ago!

02 Jun 2026 17:08:54
Terrible argument, forever. Nearly all West Ham/Spurs fans hate that they left their stadium. It's taken Arsenal 20 years to win something of note after they left their stadium.
Ibrox is iconic. By all means improve it, but we will never leave it.
