I have heard that the Lewis Ferguson deal won't happen till after the world cup, as we are holding out to see what sort of offer we get for Raskin if he has a good WC and bologna are waiting to see if they can increase there price on Lewis Ferguson if he has a good WC. As they has been a few interests in him from other seria A clubs.

I hope we do get Ferguson as i see him as our new Captain and is a solid player who will gel well with Barron.

Don't think Barron will be a starter. Not if we're upgrading our midfield. For me he'll be a bit part player, dynamically good for last half hour. Others may think different and that's fine.

01 Jun 2026 08:06:35
Can't see Ferguson and Barron working out in same team, assuming we get Ferguson. What a know about football nowadays, ye could write on the back of a stamp, so who knows. ?? Definitely need more creativity from the middle of the park, which is kinda like saying the grass is Green, to be fair. ?

01 Jun 2026 08:18:33
I'm with you Fork.
Especially since Rohl was moaning about the lack of discipline in the middle when closing people down which would apply to Barron who runs about like a blue ar$ed fly. Which looks good to some as commitment etc but to others he's achieving the square root of hee-haw.

01 Jun 2026 08:39:43
I hope to God we do sign Lewis Ferguson, but I'll believe it when I see him. Hopefully with the scarf above his head at our training centre. ? It's too good to be true that this is going to be a straightforward signing for us, and I only hope it's not a long drawn out affair.

? I honestly don't know if we will/can do this deal for Ferguson, but of course time will tell. ? ?? Like I said, I'd love it to happen and make him captain and build our team around him. ?

01 Jun 2026 08:58:09
Mph, you can't say that about the Scottish Zidane, mate.

01 Jun 2026 09:01:25
Don't be surprised to see Barron head to Italy over the summer.

01 Jun 2026 09:10:26
I fully expect Barron to be part of the deal for Ferguson if it happens.

01 Jun 2026 10:42:22
I can't see the Ferguson deal happening in fairness. I think the lad will get a bigger deal in a bigger deal, money talks.

01 Jun 2026 10:56:17
Money isn't what drives everyone.

I can't get my head around why someone wouldn't be able to have a secure future on 15/20 grand a week. Along with bonuses, sponsorship and endorsements, signing on fees and whatever else there is.

When their fellow female is in a fraction of that.

01 Jun 2026 10:58:06
In actuality, I'm sure EHL will agree with me that Barron is the one player who really does close down and invariably finds himself being the only one closing down, , we win very little as it is, our midfield don't know how to " close down " they always lose discipline and shape, thus we bring Connor on when we need to " close down"

Amazing how some people see football differently tho,

01 Jun 2026 11:32:51
Correct, Tom.

01 Jun 2026 11:50:31
Wrong Tom.

01 Jun 2026 12:01:53
Explain where he's wrong, Mph. You telling us Barron doesn't shut down in a press? Every side needs a Barron type. Best player before injury. Yes, we need better, but we still need that type of player in the middle of the park.

01 Jun 2026 12:44:20
In terms of Barron, he's exceptional at leading the press as an 8; however, when he plays the 6 he does lack positional discipline.

So I think both sides of the argument above are actually true.

01 Jun 2026 12:52:18
Justification from the font of all tactical knowledge. ?
Always thought you were the best poster on here, Ehl.

Lewis Ferguson's agent said he is looking for a move to a top 5 league. England or Italy. He said the player did want to play for Rangers at some stage, but it would be later in his career. He said this to Italian and British media just a few weeks ago.

01 Jun 2026 13:48:26
He then backtracked a week later. Rohl said he would have included Rangers but didn't think they would have the money to buy him right now, but anything's possible.

01 Jun 2026 13:55:25
I like Barron, but all he does in games is run about like mad most of the time.
He doesn't help the forward line, doesn't score goals, and his passing needs a lot of work.
I get why people like him, but I just think we need so much better.

01 Jun 2026 15:10:23
Lewis Ferguson's agent said the player wanted to remain in an elite league. This is why he mentioned Italy and England specifically. Rangers having the cash or not is irrelevant. We don't play in an elite league.

The player wants to play for Rangers near the end of his career, but not now. His agent seemed pretty clear on that point.

McMurdo explained, "Lewis is more than ready to play for one of the so-called big Italian clubs if they show interest in him and Bologna is willing to let him leave. He wants to play at the highest level possible and continue to develop his career.

He would consider offers from any of the top five footballing countries, with Italy and England being his first choices."

"We know there was interest from British clubs before his injury, but Lewis believes he has unfinished business in Serie A," agent William McMurdo told Calciomercato.it.

McMurdo has said these things in recent weeks. I see nothing at all that would suggest he would entertain a move to Scotland or Rangers. Is this just wishful thinking from the fans?

01 Jun 2026 16:09:42
He never once said he'd play for Rangers at the end of his career, Rohl, he said his ambitions are playing in the EPL and playing for Rangers.

01 Jun 2026 16:49:22
Everything I've read from that agent indicates Lewis Ferguson wants to play in a top 5 league. He's very specific about it. He says the lad wants to play in English football, and that he has unfinished business in Italy.

Do Rangers have the 20m or whatever it would take to try and sign Lewis Ferguson? If they spent all that money on one player, wouldn't that mean the bulk of the summer budget would be gone on one player, and the team needs about 10 new players in?

Sorry, but this just sounds like wishful thinking from the fans.

There's almost nothing to suggest Lewis Ferguson is joining Rangers.

01 Jun 2026 17:19:23
Rohl, I watched his interview.

01 Jun 2026 17:24:55
Maybe wrong, but it is as if it's more that the fans on here at least want the player. Are we actually in for him or some of the other names mentioned, or, as Rohl says, wishful thinking? I still think it won't happen, but could be wrong.

01 Jun 2026 17:54:02
Now, if Rangers could make it happen and we could do a deal with Bologna, I would love that.

"But I don't know if it could happen, I really don't, because of the money situation."

McMurdo also mentioned Ferguson's transfer value at EUR10-15 million, but added: "I think the money could be too big, but I don't know."

01 Jun 2026 18:19:41
Agreed ehl, I would go so far as to say, Barron is often drawn into running after everyone else mistakes and laziness, he allows himself to be drawn away from his initial position and all over the place, but he is definitely a very good player to have around, he brings a lot to the team when required and is the ultimate professional in what I can see, I hate people picking a player to destroy online by people who only see the telly, Barron does plenty for other players, he isn't technically brilliant but he brings something other players can't, its shocking the abuse he gets when he's loved at Ibrox
