Monaco again being linked to Djedi Gassama. Seems to have come from an interview given by a former Man United scout to Football Insider.
He stated that Rangers would find it hard to keep him "if Gassama wanted to go and the financial offer was a good one". Stating the obvious there I think.
More reports that Antman is also listed for sale by the club which has been stated by other posters as well.
The rumour I posted about Danilo yesterday seems to come from an interview he gave in which he said he wants to go back to Brazil to play for Corinthians more than any actual interest from Corinthians. i'd say our most likely sale route would be to Paphos if they reignite their interest from January when they bid 2.4m for him.

Cheers for the info, Ayrshire. Gassama has been so hit and miss for me. I'd be looking to sell.
22 May 2026 11:02:02
Sell him. 1 effective game in 5 is no good to us.

I think we'll regret it if we sell Gassama this season.
That said, knowing how highly rated he is, if we get the right offer we need to accept, as showing that we can create a platform for a player to move from the bottom of the Championship to one of the larger clubs in Ligue 1 within 1 season would be a serious feather in the cap for the recruitment team and would certainly help in attracting the next set of talented players.

100% Agree, EHL.
We haven't been using him right, so another season, used as impact sub or in correct position at least, should see his value rise.
A win-win!
22 May 2026 11:22:02
Sell now.

I like him, but if it's close to £10million, I would let him go.

Gassama and Curtis as options of the left-wing is more than acceptable imo. Two very good young prospects.
It's the right-wing that is the problem. This club needs to find a right-winger, who is left footed, and can cut inside.
Rohl said when Olsen was signed he was looking for a left footer to play in that position. With Olsen now gone, I imagine the search will begin again.

I agree, EHL, but with the amount of work needing done to the squad I feel if a decent offer comes in, we would do the deal.
If we are looking to keep the likes of Chermiti and Fernandes, then we need to generate money elsewhere, and I think if we keep those 2 then Gassama, Dio and Raskin will be sold to raise funds.
They are probably our next 3 big assets.
Have we already agreed pre-contracts with players? Not looking for names, just an idea of what sort of deals rumoured to have been completed.
22 May 2026 12:22:39
Depends how much we're offered. Make sure there's a big sell on for if he does kick on. He's got some potential, but very inconsistent and I hate his diving. Not too bothered if he stays or goes. To be honest, I don't think there's anyone we'd be disappointed if they left.
22 May 2026 12:59:14
I think, when we have a key player that an offer comes in for, like Morelos back in the day, it's a difficult decision to decide whether we need the player more than the fee offered. Don't think it's like that with Gassama, he has contributed very little, and if we could make a decent profit, we should be able to replace him without it impacting the squad very much.
In fact, the right signing would probably improve it.
22 May 2026 13:15:37
EHL, you are 100% right that we have to show we can create a platform for our signings to go on to get lucrative moves to the top 5 leagues.
We have to become a stepping stone for young talent.

Cannot believe how many people agree that we should keep Gassama.
He is so ineffective in attack, it's pathetic.
He may do the pressing as instructed, like EHL has said. I understand that is looked at too, but he's a winger, he needs numbers, and he doesn't have them. He is so so poor, it's scary.
22 May 2026 14:02:13
I'd keep Gassama unless a good offer comes in.
Need to remember how he started the season, was scoring goals, taking players on, causing problems.
Then he's been shifted to the right side when he's clearly ineffective there.
I don't get why the manager persists when the player is not comfortable there.

StevieG, 100% agree mate - there are 2 sides to his job and his goal scoring and taking a man on side of the job on leaves me with serious concerns. ?

Alex 84, I think perhaps DR's been kinda forced into playing Gassama on the right, let's face it, none of us wanted Skov Olsen after his limp performances. Also, Findlay Curtis was away on loan, which left us short of another potential winger choice.
22 May 2026 15:12:07
Fair point, Jim.
22 May 2026 17:25:50
Alex 84, and I'm an ancient guy (and definitely living in the past) as I can recall the wonderful wingers we have had at the club - way back in the day. Davie Wilson, Bud Johnston, Alex Scott, Wee Willie Henderson, and many more that I can't recall (it's hard enough to remember what happened yesterday!).
Obviously there's a few more recently, the likes of Neil McCann, Gabriel Amato, Andre Kancelcis, and Daniel Candais, to name a few.
Recently, apart from Cerny - who wasn't our player, it's such a long time since we had really good wingers, like we did, traditionally over the years. Again, I'm taking nothing away from Mikey Moore, but he also was not our player.
22 May 2026 18:28:11
Funny really that he doesn't perform and yet he has 9 goals and 6 assists this season, playing a lot on his bad side as well. Mikey Moore, who fans want to keep, has 7 goals and 4 assists, all in his favoured position. I hope we continue to buy ineffective players. The more ineffective, the better, as that will mean they have more goal contributions.
He will improve with us next season as well because he is used to the demands. However, as EHL says, if we get the price we want, then sell and get the next in who we can improve and move on.
I am always glad that fans aren't in charge of our recruitment team; and I include myself in that 100%.
22 May 2026 19:17:13
Jim, I think you make an excellent point. Danny Rohl tried 7 different players on the right side. And none proved effective enough to play the role (Bajrami, Antman, Skov Olsen, Aasgaard, Curtis, Gassama & Moore). Could argue that it was between Gassama and Curtis for most effective from that side, but Curtis also wanted guarantees over minutes, then asked to go out on loan, and Skov hadn't played much at this point as recently joined.
So he was kinda forced into playing Gassama there due to availability and form of others.
I, like EHL, think we could regret selling Gassama, yes he was inconsistent but I think with a stronger, more stable leadership group, more starts on the left with Moore back at Spurs and the experience of a full season we could see a really impactful player. He can hit a ball, score a goal and beat a man. Work on that decision making and we could sell for a chunk of cash.
