Whether Rohl is here or not, the leadership group needs to be decimated this summer. Year after year of total failure and collapses. That includes Raskin. Take the first good offer you get for him. Tavernier is already away, and Souttar and Butland should be following suit.

Here we go again with the just take any offer nonsense, but it will be like Igamane. If Raskin goes on the cheap, there will be an outcry. Talent wise he is one of the best players at the club, and maybe we should look at what he has been asked to play with this season, these are the guys who should be sold as soon as possible.
Whose fault was it we lost last night or Sunday? It can't be Raskin, and last night it couldn't be Tav. With some decent players around him and a clear role, he would be one of our best players.

Think John mentioned yesterday that the club are close to agreeing an offer for Raskin - in my opinion, he won't be missed. Apart from a 6 month period under Ferguson, he's flattered to deceive.

If we had a number 6 and just let Raskin play as a box-to-box player I think he'd be brilliant. Raskin can operate in both boxes and loves to get involved in everything. We were crying out for a box-to-box midfielder for years and couldn't find one.
Raskin is the best box-to-box type we've had in many years imo. We just don't play to his strengths, because we don't have the squad.

There was a release clause inserted into Raskin's contract (at his request) as part of the conditions to signing a contract extension.
I haven't read it, however, I'd place my confidence in it being factual at above 99%.
I believe it's more complicated than just a valuation though, i.e. it's based on specific leagues or clubs competing in the UCL.

Celtic getting offered 25m for Engles. Timeforchange, he won't be close to the Belgium squad for the World Cup, whereas Raskin will be in the team.
Rohlwithchess, Raskin is an 8, mate, got it in his head he's a 6, not got the capability for controlling any game from that position, or the passing range either.

I think it makes sense to try and get 10-15 for him now. If he was on the radar of big clubs, the World Cup would have no bearing. Also, don't think a good World Cup will attract bigger clubs. They know his level.

Hi Slim, the release clause sits around EUR12m. When he leaves, this will be the fee we receive. Multiple reasons support this; we are happy to deal now, as appearing at the World Cup will not increase this fee.
We have negotiated with his agent to sign a new deal, not to keep him here longer, but to increase the release clause to EUR20m. We got close, but have not progressed in the last 2 months.
