Our Fernandez? Honestly after today's performance he'll be lucky to hold down his starting position. There's 100% a player there but his lack lustred passing and wasting possession will put any half decent team off him.
He'll need to cut out the silly mistakes or worse, the lack of concentration if he has ambitions of playing at a better level. He won't be playing Martin Boyle standard of players in the German league that's for sure.

Probs get him for around 10 to 15 mill, Bassey we got 23 mill but he is levels above Fernandez and was the No1 defender in the Europa Competition the year we got to the final, thanks to GIO switching him from 2nd choice LB to 1st Choice CB, teams have spent 50 mill on him since then, plays in the best league in the world now, and kept players like Jude Bellingham and Nkunku amongst other quality players in his back pocket on our Europa run.
Would loved to have Bassey and Fernandez as a pairing, but that is only likely ot happen in the Nigeria team now if Fernandez gets picked, that is the sort of defensive pairing we should be keeping if we are to ever do anything in the champions league, and the best part is if we had we would have paid a humungous 3.5 mill euros for both.

Surely not till summer at least, our current CB options are terrible. Djiga if could send back we would, Nsiala going out on loan doesn't leave a lot of cover.
After rejection of recent bids for players can see this happening unless the bid was ridiculous.

Dado, don't know what game you were watching but Fernandez was outstanding today, he was head and shoulders above everybody else on the field, literally. He won everything in the air made some great blocks, dealt comfortably with Boyle and also strode out confidently with the ball. He was also the only one pushing to turn a dreadful draw into what would've been a lucky win.

Big Fernandez has grown into one of my first picks in the team. He can make the odd mistake yes, but looks totally up for it and has much more determination than many. Aasgaard and Gassama stroll about like a fart in a trance.
Can't believe we didn't take 10m for him tbh. Crazy that!!! It's another game without a loss, but felt many were far too lazy to deserve anything else today! Shame.

No over reaction from me, Read my posts I've been pretty level headed. He didn't play as well as he has done of late, his distribution was awful given the ball away on at least 4 occasions. The truth is you can't get away with that at the top level.
Martin Boyle gave him a torrid time in the first half and I doubt he'd get a game in the German third division.
That's not to say he won't get better and get a big move but he's got a lot of work ahead of him. Over the last 8 league games or so that was his worst. I hope and expect him to bounce back.

don't think boyle gave him a torrid time at all, there was one time he was under pressure and put it out for a corner. Other than that Boyle kept playing into his hands and fouling him.
He was fouled 3 times, made 0 fouls himself, won 10/12 ground duels, 5 tackles, 8 passes into final third, 81% passing accuracy I don't think he had a torrid time at all today

Fernandez misplaced 12 passes today based on the definition of his pass not finding a Rangers player. On average over the last 8 games his average for the same definition is 5.88. This is clearly where my frustration on his distribution is coming from.
Again, for clarity and for the avoidance of doubt I'm glad we have him in the team but today was not his best performance and was similar to most his team mates who just simply didn't perform at their best today.
