Any truth joe Aribo's coming back? Would be buzzing with that one for sure already proven. heard from a few people tonight and then read online Southampton are open to letting him come here on loan. Any one know?
20 Jan 2026 23:23:22
We need to shift players who are not good enough which makes them difficult to shift.
21 Jan 2026 00:44:24
No it doesn't just means the will go 2 a lesser team.
21 Jan 2026 00:59:18
Really liked aribo but not convinced about a return. Olsen and Antman on the right, gasama and Moore on the left. Moore/asgaard/Bajrami in the 10 or off the wings. Central midfield is covered between Raskin/dio/chuks/ Barron and he's on £70k/week apparently at Southampton.
OOC in 6 months but unlikely to be good bang for buck in terms of the wages he'll want. At 29/30 he'll be after as big a contract as possible.
21 Jan 2026 07:12:28
Worth a shot for free, we know he can bring goals from the CAM position and rotate with Aasgaard.
we are not paying him 70k a week though that is one reason Southampton want him off the books.
Better Cam option than Dowell, Bajrami and Danilo combined.
at 29 he still has goals in him.
3 year contract 35k a week, he only has 2 cups and both were with us.
He is only on 70k a week as Southampton were in the EPL when he joined he will not get that now from any club with his low goals and assists ratio since we sold him.
21 Jan 2026 07:46:37
Give him 15ish k a week a 2 year deal with a buyout in the summer would be a good deal for all.
21 Jan 2026 08:20:52
I liked him when he was here, but wouldn't be in a rush to sign him.
21 Jan 2026 08:58:08
I'm not sure Aribo is what we need right now.
Still would like to see a poacher in front of goal (especially if we manage to move Danilo on).
Pity we do not appear to be after Maswanhise as I think he's a player that can cover a few forward positions…
Appreciate we will be working on deals, and others will be contingent on us moving players out….
21 Jan 2026 09:05:49
I think if we don't even try for maswanhise it's a mistake, as he offers so much in attack n he's right under our noses
Would hate for him to go to that mob
As he is such a talented player.
21 Jan 2026 09:15:19
It's a no from me.
21 Jan 2026 09:22:41
Aribo would be a great signing and is a great player ✌️???.
21 Jan 2026 09:24:49
would take aribo back in a heart beat if we can get him back playing the way before he left he will be one of the best in the league again, he's better than Diomande Bajrami Aasgaard Moore Gassama and Antman, anybody saying he isn't have a short memory ? am not one for going and taking ex players back at end of there careers but he's 29 it's a no brainer for 1.5 million.
21 Jan 2026 09:26:02
Who do we think is getting sold to cover recent expenditure.
In other news Jamboos shopping at Florist Green rovers and ra sellic wanting M/well manager, though I think he's a smart guy and won't bite.
21 Jan 2026 09:30:51
I'd welcome Aribo back with open arms, brings quality into the team along with a good few others now.
21 Jan 2026 09:38:40
Not a signing I'd be in favour of.
21 Jan 2026 09:41:11
No thanks, we have to look forward not back.
21 Jan 2026 09:56:13
To play Devil's advocate a little on this one there is a bit of previous for players to return and smash it out the park:
Mark Hately
Kenny Miller
Steven Davis
Allan McGregor
For those who say we need to look forward should we have done the same with those players?
21 Jan 2026 10:05:05
As much as I liked Aribo first time round we need to look forward and not keep looking back at previous players.
DR has his own ideas on which players will fit into his vision so let's keep trusting him as he seems to be moving in the right direction.
I think we are covered in the midfield area at this moment, so unless players move on or if the manager believes he will add something then it's a no from me.
21 Jan 2026 10:23:09
Nope from me.
21 Jan 2026 10:25:45
People wanting Aribo back. Based on what he did here or how good he is now.
I always ask because I am never sure.
Is he the player he was, is he playing well?
21 Jan 2026 10:29:27
He is hands down a better player than the boy from mwell and the majority of players we could get but not a fan of bringing majority of players back and he would want to big a wage.
21 Jan 2026 10:39:55
Big aribo is class.
21 Jan 2026 11:06:38
We have no creativity in midfield they are all too defensively minded, I wouldn't see a problem bringing him back as he's exactly we we need however how keen is he to come back to Scottish Football, may see it as a step back.
21 Jan 2026 11:35:04
Sent ye a wee apology on the other post Strom, no hard feelings?
21 Jan 2026 12:16:01
We have a new board and a new manager and are looking at some good signings and yet here we are wanting Aribo back. Was a good player on his day but he moved on and has struggled for abit now so no thank you, I want to look forward and not back!
21 Jan 2026 13:10:58
We may have cover in all the positions mentioned, but Aribo is way better than Bajrami and Barron will be out for 8 weeks plus he looked better as a striker than Danilo ever has. As I say, don't know whether we want him but he would make the squad stronger.
21 Jan 2026 13:27:15
He'd have to play for less.
In his last season, he was on a fortune.
21 Jan 2026 13:34:01
Wslgers4ever, Are you able to give your reasoning. Not having a go. Just asking what you are basing above statements on.
21 Jan 2026 15:15:01

21 Jan 2026 19:39:55
If the wages can be agreed then aye.
