We all have our different opinions on where our superb current centre half olwethu makhanya can go in the game in the future πŸ€” Would you be so kind and run a poll for me ED πŸ‘My poll being assuming makhanya goes in the future to the english Premier League what level of club there do we think he's talented enough to play for ie.

A top 6 club,
a club sitting mid table between 7-14 or a club sitting between 15-20 in the league πŸ€” Cheers ED and as always very much appreciated pal πŸ‘.

Makhanya poll

He may well go to a top club eventually are you asking straight from Rangers to say Liverpool or do the VVD route play well then get a move?

05 Nov 2026 19:57:17
He's a boy fgs, let him grow n develop, he could be great but then again he could fall off a cliff, it's up to the boy how far he goes. Great player but leave him be.

05 Nov 2026 20:41:35
Real Madrid and Barcelona are chapping at the bit to sign him on a ten year contract for 100m . Future captain of either club, perhaps both!

05 Nov 2026 20:55:38
I think coops he stays next season. He's think πŸ€” f we win league this year and if we can have a successful season next season with decent European showings we could get Scottish record for him the following summer from next.

I can't rate him highly enough. he's some player.

05 Nov 2026 21:17:30
If he moves to England i think it'll be a newly promoted club, or a bottom 6 club.

Which to clarify SWS, doesn't mean I have a vendetta against the player, have doubts over his ability, think less of anyone who has a differing opinion or mean I think I know better than any ex-Rangers players who have a different opinion.

05 Nov 2026 21:59:12
Jesus why does it matter. We love to go over the score on our players. Just let him develop and maybe take into account what league he's playing in.

05 Nov 2026 23:56:58
Hope he stays and wraps up trophies for at least a couple of years , couldn't care less about transfer fees.

06 Nov 2026 00:22:33
Another way to look at it is how many people seen van dijk becoming the best defender in epl history when he was here at Celtic?

Probably not a lot, so if some think they can see Makhanya doing similar don't doubt you're own opinion cause it's not popular.

I think he'll be one of best in world for a number of years in n a few years time.

06 Nov 2026 00:45:04
Let the boy grow
He may or not go on to be a top class defender.
He ain't yet.

06 Nov 2026 01:28:47
Best in the world based of what stevieg2, excellent performances v celtic, Hearts etc? One of the worst Celtic teams in 20 years, Hearts team built on a shoe string? We surely at the very least need to see him play against decent clubs with really tricky forward players, before we can talk about him being elite.

The amount of levels he'd have to go up, still play the same way is incredible, the levels from spl to real Madrid are frightening mate. I love the boy but jeezo.

06 Nov 2026 03:13:48
Bb4 like I've said with JHD let's watch and see and come back to it mate.

06 Nov 2026 04:06:31
Sir Walter - you post some rubbish mate πŸ˜….

06 Nov 2026 07:34:59
He's a long long way off being at the level required for top 6 in Premier League for me, he still has a LOT to prove before he gets to the level of even top 10 for me.

Outwith the two Celtic games, where he was a level above everybody else in the game, he hasn't had standout performances for me, I'd say he's done what would be expected of him.

In the European games at start of season, Hearts game and other performances at start of season he was just as poor as everybody else.

For me European games is where he will be judged for being Premier League quality.

IMO he's a Β£10 million player at the moment, I actually believe we don't have many over that value until they start winning things.

06 Nov 2026 09:03:29
At the moment I don't think he starts for any EPL team.

Good player with lots of potential, but we need to stop giving players so much hype.

06 Nov 2026 10:49:27
What? Like you did with that dud Skov Olsen ?

06 Nov 2026 11:10:23
Olsen was a great player, shame he never turned up for us though, was excellent at Brugge and its a pity he lost his way, if the Brugge player had turned up the hype would've been justifiable.

06 Nov 2026 13:21:58
Oh please let's not go down that rabbit hole again 😬.

06 Nov 2026 13:19:22
He has a bit to develop yet but let's be honest the centre backs at some of the top 6 clubs ain't that good .They might cost a lot but that doesn't make them special just overpriced. Brighton and Brentford are currently top 6 and he could get a game for them and even Chelsea don't have decent CBs.

If you are talking traditional Top 6 clubs , then I would say Makhanya is better than anything Man United have got and Villa and Spurs don't look too good there either.

I saw Man United linked with big Calvin a couple of weeks ago. Its a bit early but if he can keep developing Makhanya can play at that level in a year or two.

06 Nov 2026 13:23:13
Wsl great points mate and great post.

06 Nov 2026 13:25:10
Everyone was hyped about Skov Olsen let's not rewrite history. An amazing coup on paper boy just lost his passion for football and wasn't the player we expected.

06 Nov 2026 13:27:04
Can we not just let us see when January arrives or the end of season, To say what team or league this player or any other Rangers player could or should be playing in, Let's hope Rangers Football Club can win some silverware this season, That can only help our Club and players stature within our game.πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ.

06 Nov 2026 13:22:53
There is a difference in thinking a player will be excellent for Rangers and thinking a player can play at the top.

Remember Rangers were 3rd last season and are currently 2nd in the league, ranked 40th in the Opta ranking.

There is a difference between thinking a player who excelled in the Champions League could be a good option and thinking a player who has never played in European continental competition to be good enough for a top 6 team in the best league in the world.

06 Nov 2026 13:25:22
Thank you Fork.

It is interesting to see what people rate and expect from players.

Just looking briefly.

Kim minsu a player i really like.

Nine games zero goal contributions for Rangers

Skov Olsen a player i really like.

Eleven games four goal contributions for Rangers.

One is rated as a star and one a flop

11 games.

06 Nov 2026 13:44:40
Nato, think we can see was Minsu brings, Olsen never brought anything, yes he had a few goal contributions but he was poor for us, he honestly didn't look like he could be arsed.

06 Nov 2026 14:08:18
Always one and Greg that is you!

06 Nov 2026 14:18:43
I think minsu offered so much to thee team that these goals and assists don't show.

If u look at his in game stats he is ranked 1st and 2nd for almost everything.

An excellent young player who will add those goals/assists soon.

06 Nov 2026 14:28:38
NATO he might have had slightly better stats on paper than Minsu but Minsu has done more in one game than Olsen did the full time he was here.
I wanted to sign him for years and was buzzing when we signed him, I would have even taken him back as I agree 11 games isn't long enough to judge a player but not at the price that was pre agreeed probably another loan.

That being said he's been no where near minsu in a Rangers jersey despite having a goal and couple assists more.

06 Nov 2026 14:51:25
Don't quite get the point of the Makhanya poll other than "See, everyone that voted agrees with me and thinks he'll play in the EPL". Waste of time IMO.

06 Nov 2026 14:52:55
It didn't work no one can argue with that my Star.

Some of us could see what he could bring with patience and support.

He has moved on from Rangers and is now returned to the Denmark national team.

He provided what a wide player should provide.

Goal contributions.

I like minsu but currently he is very flashy with little substance.

06 Nov 2026 14:58:02
Stevie, i am in no doubt my friend.

But right now he is a confident young man that the fans immediately love so gets away with not actually contributing much materially.

Skov Olsen was unfortunately a seasoned professional who had not played in 6 months prior to joining and was struggling for confidence.
Fans were on his back from the first minute without the patience being afforded to Minsu.

And yet even with zero confidence and stifling pressure he provided us with four material contributions.

06 Nov 2026 15:05:22
Wishy I completely agree.

His time was bitterly disappointing but I am trying to show the difference in the way people perceive players.

Every single new signing this season is at a point where it is far too early to judge yet we have multiple posts daily about one player or another becoming a world class star and potential champions League winner ect.

Yet a player who factually provided more for the club in terms of the scoreboard (the only thing that matters) is treated as a "Dud".
