Betamax was much better than VHS for quality just too expensive. to think how many things have been made obsolete over the years. moved to CDs then streaming. what's next?

Betamax better tape and machine usually , VHS took over in Britain in mid to late 80s as Betamax died out , once the video shops opted to go one way ( worked in one) not having to buy double the amount then it was the end.

Had a lot of horrors that never got certificated back in day for video format or got banned , made a few quid hiring them out lol.

Betamax was the better of the two, but industry went one way. send of story.
It's probably where my dubious skills at programming ended, when I got the kids to do all the setups. same with mobile phones. I still get them to sort them out nowadays.

Betamax might have been beter quality but it was very limited at the start with recording times which did not help you were always going to buy something that could last longer in case your program overrun or started late was it not only like 1hour and 1.5 hour to start with.
Thats why it failed.
