Ok fellow bears here's a wee question and there's no doubt we'll all have different opinions and it's only to gauge all our different opinions 🤔We have all said how superb a signing makhanya has been up until now with his superb performances for Rangers 👌We've seen a good few posts on here regarding who from our superb former centre halfs that makhanya is like and has a similar style to 🤔So from former Rangers centre halfs, who does makhanya have similar attributes to and remind you of ie.
boumsong, cuellar, bougherra,
weir, butcher, gough 🤔🇬🇧 Should be an interesting debate 🤔.

Boughera is probably the only one. He's a far better footballer than the rest you've mentioned. Not necessarily a better defender but a better footballer.

Coops he reminds me so much of Virgil van dijk, so much so that I would t liken him to any ex Rangers player, for me he's a young version of Virgil and so far for me looks like he could be better than Virgil was at the same age.

What a comparison Stevie G and i can see where you're coming from mate with makhanya having some similar attributes to virgil van dijk 🤔If makhanya eventually becomes anywhere near as good as van dijk what a centre half he'll become and capable of playing for any the top clubs in Europe's top 5 leagues 👌🇬🇧.

I really do like your enthusiasm Sir Walter and the feel good factor that you bring to this forum. I would have to say Boumsong. I know its early days but Makhanya really has been a revelation and a much needed stalwart at the back. He can only be a positive influence on Fernandez's development. Through in Pandur and its looking great at the back.

he definitely reminds me of a young Makhanya 😉. but I never understand the need to tag a label on a player as a comparison of an ex player. I am just happy he is playing as well as he does.

I liken him to Virgil based on his style and attributes, I think that's fair to say.

The boy seems to get better with every game as his confidence grows, some of the things he did on Sunday were a joy to watch, watch that 2nd half again you could believe he was an all round midfielder if you had just switched on, a joy to behold.

Makhanya. Imo is not like anyone at Rangers I can think off.
He has his owtvery distinct style and hopefully progresses well, I think he could be another boumsong who will leave in December,

Don't see the owners selling in Jan John if we are in a title race. Be surprised if he's here by next summer but really hope we can get two seasons out of him. Really need to start winning trophies again and need a settled team to do that.

One out long term, one can't get game lower league, Raskin no real offers, fernandes written off already by many.

If we can keep him til the summer I'd be looking at his replacement at Philadelphia union as a possible replacement for us, Infact I'd be looking at signing the lad anyway before we miss out on him the following year.
We could sign him and when we sell Makhanya he steps up. Same as he's just done for Philadelphia, by all accounts the boys just as good if not better.
I don't remember his name and I don't like to Google to make my points sound better but have a wee look, lads only 18.

Get that John but we have to start winning trophies again and we can't keep selling players after 6 months to 12 months. The squad has 10+ assets in the squad now so we are not in a bad position where we really need to sell. What we are in is a position where we are failing to win a single trophy year after year after year.
So until we start winning again we need to keep a settled squad and when we start winning we will get in to a position where the squads settled and one or two big transfers a summer and hopefully back into group stage European football.

The new owners are finally starting to see some consistency John after a horrible first season of turmoil can't see them risking that for a quick sale when they have a chance of winning the league and there will be plenty of players for us to sell next summer. Only way he goes January is if he pushes for it imo.
Turned down bids last Jan when in a title race for key players.
No team going for a title should consider selling a key player in January.

I think if we look at last years prices, we could get 10 million pounds.
We were told 20-25 for Raskin I stick by 12 million
No way we're getting 8 million for Barron, can't get on bench in Championship

If he does I suggest we offer him a new improved contract tomorrow.

We need to keep makanya for couple seasons at least as we need trophies before cash our owners are not short of a few bob.
