Everyone knows my thoughts on the managerial and some of the players signed.
But putting that to one side.
And playing Devils Advocate.
Is this the reset the club needs?
Rightly or wrongly, we've demanded instant success since Gerrard.
We now have a Scottish manager.
Scottish players.
SPFL experience.
A mixture of young and experienced players signed.
No European distraction.
Is this the season we all have to take a step back and let the club rebuild from the bottom up.
Short term pain for long term gain?
Thoughts?

I actually feel the same way, Mph. I think if we balance the books with some of our sellable "assets" and focus solely on getting a head of steam up, get the players in a shape and system and push on.
It could be the year we totally reset. I do feel the team looked too young last night and was missing a few grizzly older heads in there. Important last few days of the window here, mate.

Yes, we need to reset, but not under McInnes, he's done nothing in his managerial career to indicate he could bring success. We need someone the players respect, will run through brick walls for, and with a decent style of play the players will buy into. We don't have bad players, we do have a very young squad who need a leader, that we don't have.

As hard and as painful as the next few months are going to be, yes. We can't keep sacking the manager. I dread to think who we will go for if we sack McInnes.

Agreed, Peter, we need to sign some experience after we get Kelsey. 3/4 signings of real experience is what the young talent need here. But experience they can actually start, not squad player experience like McCrorie and Shankland.

To me, finishing second shouldn't result in sacking someone that has to face a team that's dominated Scottish football for years like Gio & Clement got, & they both were 2nd when sacked whilst doing well in Europe (Champions League doesn't count). McInnes is 5 points off Celtic already & the team has regressed from 5 months ago.
Tell me what you see that says McInnes is the right man to build a team, a winning team? He can't stick to a formation, he changes too much, takes off attacking threats for defensive ones, and players don't look coached either or know what they are meant to be doing. He's off to a worse start than Russell Martin, who got chased out of here.
Now, I didn't see anyone say he should be kept to do a reset, but I'm only guessing that McInnes is a Rangers man so deserves more time for some reason.
I don't think he'll turn this around. I don't think he's the man to rebuild the team into winners, & if we stick with him, I don't see us finishing in the top 3 if I'm honest. My main worry is if we do sack him, we'll end up with the usual names: Muscat & Gerrard. Muscat plays the football we need, but I'm not sure he'll want to come, & Gerrard isn't the answer, failure of a manager, & has turned us down at least twice.

RFC, I agree, mate, modern footballers need someone to look up to. They need to respect the man in charge, and I don't think the players respect what DM has done over his career. Shocking, I know, as these guys are paid more money in a month than some people make in a year.
Gerrard used to drum into the players' heads that they are playing for money in these European games. I don't think Del told them how much money is at stake in these ties. Well, doesn't look like it.
