So Otters post about Fernandez training prompted a wee question I thought I'd ask the forum.

Historically, who is the first player you think of when it comes to terrible on the training pitch but essential on game day?

I'll cheat and give two answers seeing as it's my question. 😂 I go with the first name that always comes to mind for me with poor trainer.

Eden Hazard.

Then when it comes to Rangers the obvious answer - Alfredo Morelos.

Didn't Romario refuse to train? As in all the time?

Not sure, mate, but could be a bit before my time, I think. 😂

I think the late great Davie Cooper hated training and we all know how good he was on game day. 💙

I'm sure that was the case with him, mate.

The other side of things is there are great trainers who look too class all week but can't do it in front of the crowd.

Stevie, you're onto another with that, Brandon Barker was meant to be the reincarnation of Maradona in training and looked like absolute dung come match day. 😂

The great George Best wasn't a fan of training, but just look at the performances he put in on matchdays - usually mesmerising 🤔 - even at the start of his boozy womanising period before the demon drink took totally over - RIP El Beatle.

Balotelli. He was either fighting with fellow team mates or p*ss*n the manager off.

Why always him, Jasper? 😆

Would be some player would take the Chermiti cash then some to get him, I think.

StevieG, under Martin, our whole squad was amazing in training apparently.

Lampard said Aguero was a terrible trainer, but a demon at the weekends.
