We needed that! How good did that feel?
As much as I enjoyed that performance and victory, it is only one game. D McInnes and our squad still have a helluva long way to go to prove that this is working. Hopefully yesterday was the start of a successful run, and something to build on.
As much as there were some very good performances out there, with Penrice being the obvious standout, there were also some alarming concerns. Fernandez is a fart in a trance - the boy needs dropped! Raskin looks half-arsed, even with the captain's armband. And Naderi?! Well, let's just say that we are never winning anything if he is our main striker. Yes, he scored, but C'mon, the ball bounced off him into the net. If we are being honest, everything else he done was woeful.
Bring in a quality LW, upgrade the current striker options, and probably most importantly, sell Fernandez, and replace him with someone who knows how to lead, and play, as a natural defender. Do that, then we might just compete.

Agreed one swallow a summer does not make, but credit where it's due, the team stuck in and kept going for a much needed win.
Agree there were scares at the back, midfield still looks very vulnerable to counter attack, and strikers appear lackluster.
Imagine what we can do when all areas function!!
On upside, Penrice was excellent, Chuck and Gassama played well and our new Serb Rolls Royce is settling well (albeit with a horror pass).
Europe is a tough ask but if we play like yesterday then I feel we are at least in a position to challenge.
Roll on those magic new signings. 🤗

Sunshine, we definitely need a CB or two, hopefully Godfrey is fit to play by next week, and we can at least get Fernandez dropped, Makhanya looks good in my opinion, so him and Godfrey in CB positions for now, then see who else we can bring in.
If we also get the RB Nedeljkovic in from Villa, then our back four will be in a much better place.

I actually like Naderi, SS.
I think he leads the line on his own better than Shankland and Chermiti, who I feel need someone to do the donkey work.
And with a run of games he'll get better and better.
And to be honest, if the ball hit his arse every week and scored, I wouldn't care in the slightest. You've got to be in that position to hit you in the first place.
It's a start. Consistency is now key.

I thought Naderi is a better option than Shankland if we are playing 1 up.

Interesting to see how some people see games. Raskin was everywhere on the park, dictating play all the time. He was the difference in the team for me. Also, with Naderi, his runs created space for the midfield players to get in behind.
A good performance from Big Ryan, and to say the ball hit off him is doing him a huge dis-service. He did well to get a touch on the ball and deflect it over the keeper and defence.
Penrice was outstanding on the left hand side, definite MOTM for me.

Better performance and, if you watch highlights, Naderi moves his right leg towards the ball so it doesn't just hit him. Lucky and/or meant to go in then no, but it didn't just hit him. He leads the line well on his own and will score goals as the team play better. Fernandez as well will get back to what why fans were saying he was worth record fees. Something not right, but will be temporary, I think. He was holding his groin at end of Euro game, so might be carrying an injury.
If it is unsettled due to transfer speculation, that will go at end of window. Until then, he needs support and not scapegoating. Let Michael Stewart do that, as he did in commentary yesterday with every loose pass being picked on. Didn't give the one by Drago which led to their goal half as much criticism because he knows Rangers fans aren't against him yet.

Correct, Angus. Naderi did move his right leg and the ball went in off the side of his knee. Naderi did the job he was on the park to do and led the line well.
