Bbj pretty obvious you "can" get better players from abroad, does that mean we shouldn't ever sign players from spl? That's lunacy to me. Or like what Rohlwithcheese was suggesting blame the 3 players with spl experience when things go wrong, when we've signed players from Serbia, England, mls, bundesliga2.

No BB4, it doesn't mean we shouldn't ever bring players from the SPFL, but how many of those that we have, have worked out well for us recently?
Maswanhise doesn't want to play in Scotland and had a good year last year granted but poor before that, so how can we say he will perform. Same goes for Braga, Kyzridis and Watt.
I don't give a monkeys where we sign players from if they have the quality, bud, but I just want our actual recruitment team setting up and sorting properly.
Am sick of our scattergun approach to transfers.
We just go from disaster to disaster year on year. Something needs fixing, and quickly, as we become a less and less attractive team to sign for each year we fail.

We can't be making excuses for players with SPFL experience or those that are Rangers minded, BoyBlue.
Because plenty on here said those were the type of players that we need as they would hit the ground running, know the league etc.
They should be leading by example.
Are you saying that Shankland, Devlin, and McCrorie have been head and shoulders above everyone else so far?
Because the only one of the new signings that has shown anything is Yokota, and loads bad mouthed him before he signed as not good enough from the German 2nd Division.
Quality should always be the first signing standard. If he happens to be Scottish, Rangers minded and hits the ground running, then we've won a watch.

See the stories that Maswhanise doesn't want to play in Scotland, while that may be the case.
Would people not agree that if he's got 2 choices on that table, Rangers or Motherwell, that he'd clearly come to Rangers and go from a grand a week to 6/7 grand a week, maybe £10k, I dunno, wages for new players who are on pennies elsewhere.
He can then go back to England from us when there's a club who want him.
Genuine question, lads, does that not make more sense as there doesn't seem to be any interest from England at £4-5m price he has on his head?

McCrorie was not brought here as a backup option. He was brought here to be our starting RB. The Rangers Review spoke about this a few weeks ago. Jonny McFarlane said that if Rangers did bring in a new RB it was a clear sign that the club have lost faith in McCrorie already. Now here we are looking to bring a new RB in.
With such a lack of depth at CB, McCrorie could provide cover for that position. Plus, the fact he's Scottish and trained by the club will help with the European squads. But this is a player who wasn't good enough to play for us a few years ago. He's been brought back at the cost of £1m and he's still not good enough. This has been a failed piece of recruitment.
Dan Neil really concerns me. Not just because he has been so poor, but he is apparently on big money at Rangers.
Someone said 30k/week. He must have been viewed as a key player, and the boat pushed out to bring him here. If he ends up a squad player, we'll need to get rid of him because that wage can't be justified, and nobody else will pay him that. I honestly think if we kept John Lundstrum we would have a better player on our hands which proves we aren't progressing.
Rangers are spending money and not moving forwards. Throwing money at the problem isn't working. I honestly think the club need to put the breaks on and take a good look at what is going wrong. We can no longer shop in the lower leagues of England and try to scoop up 'the best of the rest' from within Scotland because they're all going for £6m now. We can get better quality, for better prices, abroad.

Honestly, the clamour to discuss payers' wages disgusts me. Not one single player has ever tried harder when they got 25k a week than they did when they got 10k. Does a joiner or a sparky get criticised when they get paid more?

Rohl, an interesting read is salary leaks. I don't know much about their reliability, but the bonuses column is eyes watering.
I'm told it includes signing on fees, winning silverware, competing group stages Europe.
This provides an insight as to why 55 and Europa final cost us a fortune in payouts.

Looking at our squad on Flashscore, we have 18 players, now 19 with the imminent arrival of Driouech, who are new to the club in the last 12 months.
Souttar, who is getting bombed out, at 4 years, and Raskin, 3.5 years, and also leaving (?), are our longest serving players.
It really is no wonder at all we're not playing well and we're not going to win a thing. There's nothing there.

Rohl, Neil has played under 100 minutes. You soon see if you'd prefer Lundstram over him. Our problem is judging players far too quickly, but under 100 minutes is something else.

Rohl reliable sites indicate Dan Neil's salary went from 7,500 when he signed his latest deal to 15000 the season just ended.
We allegedly pay him around 27k a week, which includes his signing on fee. He is now one of the highest paid players presently at Rangers.

Dan Neil needs to be a star player to justify that wage or he needs to go. I really hope Dan Neil proves to be a key player for us. Right now, he looks nowhere near it.

It also feels staggering to pay any type of wage to players who were never clearly good enough that are never going to really improve our team just because their Scottish or this so called Rangers minded.
