I don't know what the other posters think but, personally I'm delighted this fiasco of a World Cup is now over.

For UK fans, be they armchair fans (totally mental live viewing times) or the poor sods that actually went there and were majorly ripped off in every respect and probably put themselves in major debt to support their team.

I'm glad it's all over and the best team won, but it was a horrible, nasty, exploitive tournament thanks to Trump and Infantino.

The corruption has been endemic for decades within FIFA, and it will never change as long as the USA condone it.

Here here, Jim. 👏👏👏

Thought, in the main, it was terrible to watch. Argentina in the final were an embarrassment.

I didn't see many games because of work nightshift. I usually love World Cup, but too many teams in it this time loses a bit of magic.

I actually quite enjoyed it once the groups were done.
Games were on at a more manageable time to watch them.
Great to see some "small" nations show Scotland how it should have been approached.
Some impressive stadiums that were always full.
Good laugh seeing England fail again.

Good to see Argentina fail for their "anti-football".
Super Ally in co-commentary. 😍
Young Curtis became Scotland's youngest participant in a WC. 🔴⚪🔵
Steve Clarke getting the tin tack.
Trying to guess famous old footballers before the commentators told us.
List goes on.

JFM, agree with you about a lot of that.

Personally though, I was in the USA for just over 2 weeks with my 2 sons, both old enough to cater for themselves.
I managed to do it all for a reasonable price other than my Scotland v Morocco and Scotland v Brazil tickets, £400 and £500 pounds respectively, through the SFA points system.
We booked flights and accommodation early, which we managed to get for a very reasonable price.
I have to say we had an absolute blast in Boston and Fort Lauderdale.

The experience at the stadiums nearly made up for the cost of the matches, which was absolutely incredible. Patriots Place, outside the New England Stadium, is at a whole different level.
Yes, I've got a small hole in my pocket financially, but no more than when I took the family to Disney World on a few occasions when they were younger.
Glad though it's all over now and getting excited about the season ahead.

Worst final I've seen in a long time.

Apologies, Jim217, I must be getting old. I've typed JFM when replying to you.

Done something similar to yourself, CO2, still a lot of money obviously, but memories made for life, that's what it's all about for me.

21 Jul 2026 02:18:44
I have no sympathy for people that went.

A fool and their money are easily parted.

21 Jul 2026 07:45:02
Glad you made memories that last a lifetime, like myself, Boy Blue.
You can't put a price on that, mate.
I couldn't remove the smile from my face for the whole trip.
The memories and valuable time spent with both my boys will definitely last a lifetime.

Forever, I can't speak for anyone else that decided to go, but I'm no fool and don't need any sympathy.

I run my own business, working extremely hard, lots of hours, and due to that I'm very prudent with regards my spending.
I would likely have spent the money going on a holiday with my wife hadn't I gone to the USA.
(Work hard, Play hard).

CO2, No need for apology, mate, easily done and no offence caused.
