How do people feel about McGregor coming back as
Goalkeeping coach?
There's no doubt he was a world class keeper.
However, is it a concern that he doesn't have his badges? Is it something that can be done without them?

Gazza, absolutely no concern imo mate. ? I think he's got the majority of his coaching badges and has only a few still to get. ? Greegs more than capable of coaching our goalkeepers, physically and mindset. ? He's done it all and got the t shirt and for me the 3rd greatest Rangers goalkeeper of all time. ? ??

McGregor has the drive, passion, and knows what it takes for our club. Love the big man and will push our goalkeepers all the way.

Having the coaching badges doesn't automatically mean he will be a success. So we will just need to wait and see.

Being a former player and a great Goalie doesn't necessarily make him a good goalkeeper coach. This is an odd one for me and seems like a step back, but he'll of course get my support.

From what I've read. New keeper is a good shot stopper, but questionable at crosses and distribution, unfortunately, the same areas McGregor was poor at.
Hope he can coach the new guy to improve on those bits of his game that he was unable to improve upon himself.

The answer to your question, Ehl, is I honestly don't know what coaching badges Greegs currently had. I read an article over a week ago that he had some, but had some of his badges still to complete. ?

Reading his interview, he said that he had been offered the chance to do his coaching badges when he was coming to the end of his career but didn't want to do it. Sounds like he's got no badges and will be doing them now. Is it required that he has coaching badges to be a goalkeeping coach?

Any time I've seen a goalkeeping coach he's either throwing or kicking a ball at the keepers to catch or save.
Surely can't be that difficult?

Doesn't have any badges, considering he hasn't done yet tells me he doesn't want to be a coach. People can say he has the mentality, passion & drive, but he didn't have those things to go & get his badges or experience (except under Barry where we were worse).
If he never played for us, everyone would be against it & questioning it. Jobs for boys, what happened to best in class or best possible?

DJB, you're another one constantly greeting about every single thing. Sal Bibbo is a highly rated goaly coach. What did we win with him as the coach? Hee haw. Clubs are going with a different approach this summer, and I'm glad of it. Our squad was far and away the best on paper in that league from January onwards. Yet we finished 3rd, which tells me quality alone doesn't win you titles in Scotland. You need winners in and around the place, and guess who's a winner with Rangers? Mcgreggor.
He's played a key role in the past 4 titles this club has won. The last starting goaly to win a title for Rangers that wasn't Mcgreggor was in 2005. 21 years of Mcgreggor being the only starting goaly that won a title for Rangers.
Will he be innovative as a coach? Probably not, but will he prepare the goalies to know exactly what they're going to face every single game and teach them about what's required to succeed at this club? Absolutey.
