I could be wrong so don't shoot me if I am EHL but I'm sure you said Barron was better than devlin once again I might be wrong can you confirm if I'm right or just taking pish ?

Factual statistical evidence points to Devlin being at the top of most metrics in that position and a top performer last season, as has been posted by others. EHL highlighted different attributes for both players, if I mind correctly, just happened that his contract had expired, so a no brainer to bring in a top performing MF in the league for nothing.
Will it work? Who knows. Think McInnes knows better who he wants.

I would rather have Barron than Devlin in my side, but they both bring different dynamics to similar roles.
I think both bring a natural level of energy and intensity. Devlin is excellent off the ball, Barron is decent off the ball. Devlin is pretty poor on the ball, Barron is decent on the ball.
Barron actually has excellent delivery from a dead ball as a wee bonus. Devlin has a nasty edge that Barron doesn't - which worked at Hearts, but not sure how much he'll get away with at Rangers.
Do we need both? I'd say no.
Do we need a player of that ilk in our squad? Absolutely.

Nice to see a balanced assessment of both, I was aware you had highlighted different attributes to both, refreshing to see without the smoke being blown up their bahookies by some.

I like Connor Barron myself, Ehl, but if you're going by stats Devlin has much better stats than Barron. ? I absolutely agree, we absolutely need a Cammy Devlin or Connor Barron type in our midfield, as it allows our more technical attacking midfielders to go and do their stuff, as the water carrier gives them that platform to do so.
? ?? Said this on here many times when I've been praising Barron that every successful team needs this type of midfielder. ? ?? Unsung heroes for me who go unnoticed, but do the donkey work well. ? ??

Plenty of room for both in squad, should Dio and Raskin be packing their bags imo. ?

I really like Barron and would like him to stay. But he's mostly only been used as a squad player, so it's not a loss if he does move on, especially if we make a good profit, and Devlin does a similar job, then it's all good.

I would disagree, SWS, but then it's all down to what stats you look at and how you interpret them.

I can imagine most players, if not all, would jump at the chance to go and live in Italy, and if it is Lazio another 10 or 15k a week would do very nice.

You can't really argue with decline stats, and you can disagree, but Devlin statistically hands down better than Barron on last season alone, and it's not even close. Don't know what other stats you look at for a dm.

Davlin is not only a better player (every stat backs that up), but McInnes said he has a great work ethic that will be a huge asset to the dressing room. Devline is the better player.
Barron isn't great defensively or offensively. He is overrated by Rangers fans.

Think I prefer Barron, he'll have a better career.
Devlin was heads and shoulders above ever mf in the league last year.
Devlin a great signing for us and we have to sell Barron if we're getting £7m plus.
