Do all transfers follow the same steps/process? Was wondering this yesterday with the talk of Dahl.
Are personal terms always agreed on first before both teams come to an agreement on value or can the value be done first before personal terms are agreed.

I think the way it happens now is that agents are asked what sort of money might entice the player to come to Rangers, then, if we think we can do business, we would approach the selling club.
Officially, you aren't allowed to discuss directly with a player who is under contract until the selling club approves.

Geesa, you aren't allowed to approach a player or their representatives, directly or indirectly, either before the club agree, and it has to be written permission, I understand. In reality, I suspect someone will ask if they are interested before the club make their approach.
Also found out whilst looking that licensed agents are legally forbidden from discussing a potential move for a client who is under contract unless authorised by the parent club. Bang goes all those leaks from agents then. ?

Not really, Angus, as around 70% of our squad's agents have been given permission to discuss potential moves and the club and agents agree the parameters for those discussions.
In fact, a lot of players have set clauses added to their contracts now that define those parameters.
So the same will happen across most clubs.

Angus, you're correct, sort of - while it is prohibited by regulations to negotiate a contract before speaking to the selling club, nowadays it is completely normalised in practice through indirect communication via agents.

EHL, is that not being given permission and the club agreeing though? And, in writing, if it is a clause in their contract. Sorry, just the pedant in me asking, as what you say seems to be what I am saying the regs are.
TKF, a bit like speeding: against the law but everyone does it. Mainly as there is no-one out there checking it isn't being done and no-one cares.

I'm not being disrespectful to Turkiye, mate, but who at 21/22 would want to go there from Scandinavia? It's not an attractive option for me.
He comes here for 2 seasons, moves into England, and from there probably onto Spain's big 3.
He's that good, man.
It's all about a pathway. Same as our own youth.
We offer a good path to epl. Same as Celtic do. He can toughen up to British football and the pace of the game.
Same as Van Dijk down before he went south.
