Fair play to Cape Verde. See what happens when you have a shot at goal. Take note Steve Clarke.

Sir, the problem is we don't get close enough to positions where we can shoot. Our possession play is murder. We need to have a right good go at Brazil, leave nothing in the tank and just go all out.
We can play some lovely footy at times, we just don't see it enough. This could well be our best generation of players for years to come so we may as well have a go.

Totally agree, all these so called smaller teams are having a right go & getting some great results. I had really hoped we would be different this time but sadly, same predictable story. ?
22 Jun 2026 08:56:24
What to do. Go for it and lose 4-0, or play it tight and hoof it up. Lose 1-0 and maybe go through on goal difference?
22 Jun 2026 09:30:18
I'd rather go for it . . . If we go through, we're going to have a very difficult game regardless. I'd have preferred going at teams from the off than going through by skin of our teeth with poor to mediocre performances. Not like we're at every World Cup. ??♂️

Normally I agree, but looking at groups.
Group A Mexico win or draw v Czech, 1 down.
Group B hope for draw Qatar v Bosnia.
Group D Australia to beat Paraguay.
Group E Germ and Ivory to win, 2 down.
Group F Japan beat Sweden by few goals.
Group G Egypt Belgium win, 3 down.
Group H Spain Saudi win, fingers crossed.
Other 3 groups second game should give us a better idea, but so far it's shaping up well for Scotland, just hope teams like Mexico give it their all for last games even though through already.

Scotland lose by 1 goal and remain on 3 points, have a far greater chance of getting through than not.
22 Jun 2026 10:32:53
Possibly the Germans were being said the other night.
22 Jun 2026 11:28:15
Read we can get Germany also, Fork.
And apparently that's the easiest side of the draw.
Though, also read there was something like over 400 permutations for the draw?
22 Jun 2026 11:37:52
Ross Stewart, I'd have leading our line.
22 Jun 2026 11:54:50
Let's go all out, taking the game to the 6th and 7th rated nations on the planet in temperatures more suited to them, and be applauded for givin our all, but risk getting pumped in process. Or hire Stevie Clarke from Kilmarnock and try and sneak our way out the group by hanging on in there? We are still in with a very good shout.
I thought the GK and defensive options at Rangers were slim lol. Job done so far.
22 Jun 2026 14:09:41
If Rangers had taken the defensive approach, we'd never have had half the amazing away results against better teams like Dortmund etc! Give it a go and have faith in your players.
22 Jun 2026 15:34:57
As you only get the chance to play at this level every four years, surely we should always have a go.
22 Jun 2026 16:14:30
It's a tough call but the team needs to be balanced to give us a chance offensively and defensively.
Maybe Gannon-Doak and Shankland to start alongside Adams.
Hickey, Henry, McKenna, and Robertson.
Midfield - McGinn, McTominay, Ferguson.
Gordon or Gunn, GK.

Yes, Ross Stewart for me.
Quiz. Who was the last former Albion Rovers player capped for Scotland?
