I read a lot of views sell Chermiti, 25 million
Sell Raskin 20 million
Sell fernandes 25 million
Bring in shankland free
Devlin free
Findlay 1 million.
I call that downsizing the club. Let's be careful we are not selling the Crown Jewels.
19 Jun 2026 16:22:55
I agree, John, if you take these players and compare on individual quality, we are downgrading.
I'm fine with selling Raskin but it needs to be to bring in a lesser known player who is better or has the potential to be better.
Or it has to be a specialist. A big name is fine also, like a Ferguson, which I've said I don't see happening, but hope it does.
19 Jun 2026 16:23:49
Well said, John!
19 Jun 2026 16:24:29
Tbh John, I want to keep those players and bring in better ones to compliment the squad further.
However, I also believe if we were to sell those 3 mentioned that we wouldn't be significantly weaker in a starting 11.
Souttar for Fernandez.
Barron for Raskin.
Shankland for Chermiti.
Some might even say that's better?
19 Jun 2026 16:43:29
But, if it allows us to invest in a team of good players rather than just having 3 or 4, would it not be worth it?
19 Jun 2026 16:47:22
John, if we are getting paid your valuations, then I say sell. That's a huge purse for Rangers.
19 Jun 2026 16:48:36
For me, I'd keep Fernandez and Chermiti for 1 more season, then sell after we find decent replacements for them. Raskin could be sold and possibly use funds to bring in a similar type of player.
I agree with John, sales of players should be phased, not to over sell our top players too quickly or at the same time.
19 Jun 2026 16:55:26
Thing is, we need a squad of players, not just a starting 11. Devlin would be a good addition to the squad.
If we sell the 3 mentioned, they will need to be replaced with a similar calibre of player.
Ferguson for Raskin, for example.
19 Jun 2026 17:21:47
Totally agree, John, I just hope that the players mentioned are the back up to the ones that will actually replace them. The guys coming in are really positive signings in terms of squad depth & hopefully raising standards & intensity on the training ground, but yes, we would be looking for a bit more quality for the first team.

When the time came for leadership and/or to demonstrate sufficient talent etc. to take us to glory, Nico was found wanting in my opinion.
Is the lack of trophies on his watch his fault? No.
Was it Tav's fault? No.
However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and on Nico's watch I've been shown a wee bit of leg and a glimmer of side boob, but never got down and dirty.
19 Jun 2026 17:32:44
I'd say downsizing, I'd also say our club's standards have dropped.
19 Jun 2026 17:45:49
Baxter, I'm quoting other people's valuation.
Kaiser, If we invest. End of window will tell us.
Cmac, totally agree.
Goram, totally agree re squad, but we need several starters or we don't win league.
Zikos, respect your view, but can't agree with it, no one queuing up to pay millions for Souttar, Barron, Shanks. Squad value plummeting by more than 50%.
Good discussion and views.
19 Jun 2026 17:53:53
Fair enough, John, in an ideal world we would keep said players. Strike when the iron is hot would be wise. Although, if practical, then keep all players who are going to win us the league.
19 Jun 2026 17:54:51
I think we will be selling one of them at least to fund other purchases. Hopefully we get decent money for Raskin and re-invest in someone with better potential better for cheaper.
19 Jun 2026 18:01:58
Some may see McInnes as down sizing.
Do we really believe big Manny going for 25 mill? yea, he may become a great player.
Chermiti young full of promise you could see that being 25 mill with add ons but both players sold we have Everton and Peterbrough waiting for their share.
We still have Danilo to come back.
We still have Nsiala to come back.
Has McInnes been hired to try and win league?
On the cheap, hence w***land Devlin.
Is McInnes still in America, or is at work where he should be?
19 Jun 2026 18:05:25
Think that's the key, John. Depends how we invest it. We have already lost 7 or 8 players for nothing, so selling a couple of those lets us bring in the new defence we need. Don't think Devlin is a replacement for Raskin either, but is definitely a good squad player, and for free is a no brainer.
If we weren't also going for other stat players, then, yes, it'd be downgrades, but those mentioned are only the beginning.
19 Jun 2026 18:06:32
But they are upgrades, don't you know, John. ?
19 Jun 2026 18:37:13
I would rather we keep two and sell Raskin who seems most likely to leave. Yes we have a player trading model but that isn't sell them all at same time. In a perfect world we keep two, buy their long-term replacements and sell them next season. Less risk if they have got used to the league and the demands for a season.
Being free isn't the thing which is foremost in my thoughts as if it were we lose lots of potentially decent players. The fact they were decent at another team doesn't mean they will be at us. Jordan Jones and Scott Wright were examples, and fans moaned about their quality all the time.
So look for the best and, potentially the best, in the budget we have and buy them. Whether they know the league or the club is irrelevant imo; whether they have the talent and the mentality is what we need to look for. Unfortunately even then these aren't a given when they get here.
Oh, and give the manager a couple of seasons to build and blend that squad. Not saying we need to accept second, as that will never be the case, but we need to realise we need to do something different to break the mould.
19 Jun 2026 18:38:26
Teddy, let's not get confused re their shares. 20% of profit is ok.
Lol, Rfc.
We have allegedly gone from wanting Doehki Dahl Anderson to what?
19 Jun 2026 19:00:33
If we sell those three players for £65 million we should be buying 11 players at around £6million, one for each position and then we could have a real go at winning the league.
I do find it ironic that we are moaning that we need to buy "a spine" for our team and yet we currently have "a spine" worth £65million.
19 Jun 2026 19:04:45
Devlin no8.
19 Jun 2026 19:32:05
Come on, everyone knows Devlin is a number 6. Hang on, that has brought back bad memories of other threads. Nurse, where is my meds. ?
19 Jun 2026 21:38:13
Wsl, just because we pay 6 million for someone doesn't make it a successful team. Your strategy is the worst I have heard on here. It makes no sense whatsoever. How much did we spank on Danilo? Was he worth it?
19 Jun 2026 21:49:32
John, what Findlay is it you're mentioning? Please tell me it's not Stuart Fraser of Hearts?
