After taking a bit of time to think things through here's my list of who i'd like to come in and in order.
1. Derek McInnes
2. Kevin Muscat
3. Alex Neil
The reason I've put McInnes top are as follows:
Gets the maximum out of his teams predominantly and has shown ability to improve individuals.
Punches up a lot due to the above.
Fan of the club and knows the league inside out.
Was recommended our god Walter.
Plays a 2 striker system which would be massive for us with our options up top.
Wins even if it's not pretty.
Hurts Hearts and derails their pre-season.
Has previously worked with Barron, Shankland and a certain midfielder we'd all like to bring in from Bologna.
Wouldn't need time to find his feet and will set standards from day 1.
Has seen our team play and will know who is and isn't up to it quicker than someone who hasn't seen much of us.

Do we really want to hurt Hearts, the whole league is crying out for teams that can take points off us and them.

Smith told him not to take it, the time was wrong.

In a competitive environment there is no space for sentiment.
I done martial arts from the age of 5 till I was 21 and then suffered ligament damage ending it. I won for 2 years straight, every competition. Was in the Scotland squad, Britain squad, future Olympic squad, and I can assure you I didn't care or want anyone else winning. I often fought Rickie Little (and won ?) who was a CB for Arbroath recently as a nice wee added note.
I take credit for his professional football career. ?
From a neutral point of view, yeah it's nice to have variety, but if we want a team with a winning mentality then we need to adopt the same and be relentless, always looking for that next 1% improvement.

You only have a better product by having better teams. In the league, nothing to do with not wanting to win everything. Infact having better competition often drives you to be better as well.
Whilst not as athletic as you, I was fairly good at pub league pool and I more often got beat by poor players than I did by good players, simply because I went in to the game believing I didn't need to try as hard.
Playing risky shots that I wouldn't do against better players etc.
So yah I strongly believe you do better if your competition is better too.

Nah that's a fair point, Geesadodothat. Completely respect that. I sometimes performed better against better fighters, but sometimes nerves (especially earlier in my years) would get in the way. I think I was always fine against fighters I knew weren't that good, but could be misremembering that (wee bit of confirmation bias).
I agree about the better product, and at the end of the day I'm only saying it would hurt their preseason.
It wouldn't destabilise them. If we want a better product, I could argue we shouldn't have took Shankland and shouldn't be after Luke Graham, whilst Celtic shouldn't have took McCowan off Dundee, and nobody should touch Just, Watt, etc. Whilst I'm picking holes, I will admit I completely see and respect your point, just think it's deeper than taking a manager or player hurts the league.

Back on topic, Muscat just isn't the answer. He shouldn't even be getting a mention.

I'd like Alex Neil, but he's a big big Celtic fan. It doesn't really mean anything, as no doubt he'd be professional, but sometimes there's people like myself who, even in profession, just couldn't pull on that opposition jersey.

Why's that, DTB? ? Just asking, mate. ? We all have our opinions.

I'm not having a Celtic fan manage Rangers!
Not a chance, Sam. Professional or not. And our fan base is on edge after last season appointing a Celtic fan would be the silliest thing they could do.
He's not for us. I'm not overly keen on many who've been mentioned. Big decision if Rohl leaves cause Rangers could just say no if they really wanted to keep him.

Aye, Neil would definitely be a no no.
