If the stories in the Daily Rebel are true we are going to have to move very fast in making a new appointment, or face being left in the traps with signings and making a strong start to our league campaign? Can only be Gerrard or McInnes?
As of now, there is no publicly announced contract confirming that Steven Gerrard will be part of the BBC or ITV punditry teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The broadcaster line-ups that have been released by both BBC and ITV do not include Gerrard.

That said, Gerrard has recently appeared in football media roles. For example, he has featured on TNT Sports/discovery+ programming discussing the 2026 World Cup alongside other pundits, showing that he remains active in broadcasting work.

If you're asking whether he is contracted somewhere to cover the tournament, there is no widely reported agreement with the major UK World Cup broadcasters at present. The confirmed BBC and ITV squads include names such as Wayne Rooney, Micah Richards, Alan Shearer, Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright, but no sign of Gerrard?

I think, with it being so close to pre season. Sg would be the safe logical choice now.

Gerrard has been in talks with Burnley for ages now. Maybe he got wind of what's happening, and that's why he's not signed at Burnley yet.

Knocked us back twice so naw and avoidance of doubt naw.

Guys, Danny Rohl is still Rangers manager. ? No talks have taken place, Sky Sports News is reporting, so we're maybe jumping ahead here, when there might be nothing in it. ?

Contact has been made sws as per Sky Sport Germany Plattenburg's post.

Peterpanloyal, not according to the UK Sky Sports News, mate. ? They're reporting no contact and no talks have taken place, so one of them is wrong, my friend. ?

11 Jun 2026 13:55:17
Well, it was Plattenburg that broke news initially. And he's usually on the money. ?

11 Jun 2026 14:24:51
I know he's usually on the money, Peterpanloyal. ?

If Rohl leaves, the number 1 candidate at such short notice before the season starts is McInnes. He knows the players, knows the league, knows the opposition. He would be my pick.

I want Rohl to stay, but if we are offered decent compensation and dr would want to move home at some point to be closer to his family, then we could use the money to pay off Hearts and pay Macinnes for a few years at no cost.

Macinnes wasn't my first choice, but if it were to happen now, I think it makes the most sense. Plus, I think he would come, as he would want to get back at Celtic for how it ended last season.

Rollwithit, how will he 'know the players' when we are actively looking to lose up to a dozen?
