Morning All

Long time reader, 1st time poster.

Firstly, Sir Walter you must be the longest serving poster on here! I recall you with several different names the emojis give it away.

I'm now living in Essex have been for 10 years but was brought up in Glasgow and joined the army at 16. Had a ST in the Copland Front, Row J Seat 66.

Now for my sins watching West Ham in the Olympic Stadium, Sunday disappointing but knew it was coming from 5/6 games into the season.

Get up to Ibrox for hospitality 4/5 times a season but have a ST for WHU.

I have a good feeling going into this season. I think Mr Cavanagh will fix his mistakes. The last 13/14 years have been completely unacceptable for Rangers and I genuinely feel sorry for the fans who go week in and week out.

Selfishly I'm glad I've no had to suffer it every week.

Best Wishes to all

Welcome, Iron Rangers, you will love it in the mad hoose now you are posting.

27 May 2026 08:58:35
Strom, thanks. Trust me, Rangers and West Ham have much in common when it comes to fans and a madhoose. I've sat back and had a right good laugh at times reading this page.

Sadly, a few good posters have left over the last 6 months and they're perfectly entitled to.

I did quite enjoy the Norwegian guy's posts. He was very knowledgeable but seemed to rub folk up the wrong way at times. I don't care about words. Thankfully, I don't care enough to get offended.

27 May 2026 09:15:54
A very warm welcome to the site, Iron_Rangers, and I hope you become a regular poster on this site, my friend. ? Tbh with you, I think both John and TT12 have been posting on this superb site even longer than myself. ? One of my best pals I go to Ibrox with is a West Ham fan and has been down at quite a few games, especially at Upton.

? I know through him that a lot of the West Ham supporters have a liking to Rangers, because of the British thing etc. ? I hope the Hammers get back up to where they belong next season, and first and foremost for me, I hope and pray my beloved Rangers get back to being the number 1 club in Scottish football again. ?

27 May 2026 09:16:47
Welcome, Iron. I agree Cavanagh isn't stupid. He knows how to evaluate projects that aren't working and improve them. He'll take heart from the fans' reaction to Shankland coming in and push on.

27 May 2026 09:30:34
Welcome, Iron Rangers.
And suffering twice as much as the rest of us due to your love of Rangers & West Ham!

27 May 2026 09:30:54
Welcome Iron, commiserations on West Ham's relegation, I think getting rid of David Moyes was possibly a mistake on hindsight after winning a European Trophy, but, hey ho, look at Rangers. I agree regarding My Cavanagh.

He seems a genuine businessman who will take us forward this season coming. All the best for next season, Iron, enjoy your football without stress, as it's only a game after all.

27 May 2026 10:24:26
Thanks all, SWS, you are quite correct. There is a big love in for Rangers with most West Ham fans I know. They're a very patriotic, working class bunch, a few idiots like every fan base, but on the whole they're a decent bunch.

Double bubble with suffering lol!

Irvger, Moyes left of his own accord. He wasn't chased out, despite what most think. WHU decided they wanted to change his role from Manager to Head Coach and employ a Director of Football. He didn't want to work under that structure and declined the offer.

The problem wasn't him leaving; it was the appointment of Lopetegi and Potter afterwards, and the scatter gun recruitment of players that followed. I've no issues with Nuno. Like Rangers, we can't keep changing managers and players and expect to perform consistently, so I'm glad Nuno is staying. His record over the last 6 months, if it was over the season, would see WHU in the top 10, and realistically the lower end of 10 is where they should be, on a good year chasing European Football.

27 May 2026 10:32:22
Welcome Iron,
Like you, I joined up and left Glasgow but it was the RAF for me. Still manage to get up the road to see a couple of games each season though.

Now, living in Lincolnshire and a season ticket holder at Lincoln City, so I'm looking forward to visiting the Olympic Stadium next season, but would have preferred Tottenham away.

I also believe that AC will get it right and, hopefully, with backing, DR will win trophies. It was always going to be a couple of windows to complete, but, unfortunately, we had a bit of false hope this season, but we can build on that this year.

27 May 2026 10:45:24
Welcome, Iron. U sound like a good poster. Glad to hear u for a thick skin too. Ul need it. ? Though Hammers were unlucky, going down with 39 points is hard and hoped Spurs went down instead. U happy Nuno staying? Think he'll do a great job in the long run if they can sort probs behind the scenes.

27 May 2026 10:46:10
Welcome, Iron, my English club Sunderland made last season a bit easier, but would rather they got relegated and Rangers won the league, mind you.

27 May 2026 10:48:21
Yeah Aphe was a great poster, hopefully he comes back.

I like West Ham, always hope they do well apart from playing against Liverpool. ?

27 May 2026 10:50:58
Thanks, Lincoln. You should make a weekend of it if you can afford it. I'm a big fan of London, it gets a raw deal in the media imo, but I've never had a problem and there is so much to see and do.

27 May 2026 10:59:48
Kaiser, yes, I think Nuno, who's made mistakes, deserves a fair crack of the whip. He inherited a mess and nearly pulled it off. He undoubtedly made mistakes along the way, but most managers do. Spurs were terrible. I don't pay much attention to them. I absolutely loathe Arsenal. They're London Celtic to me.

Every time it's no their fault. Every one is out to get them lol!

Strom, I love an Anfield away day. Great City, proper working class people and there is a vibe about Anfield.

My Star, Sunderland were fantastic this season. Fair play to them. Good luck in Europe. Big test for them playing Thursday/Sunday now.

27 May 2026 11:03:55
That's him, Strom. Very knowledgeable guy on Scandinavian football. His posts in that area were very informative. It all got a bit messy. People will always have different opinions and that's fine. If we all agreed it would be boring and I'd need to agree Arsenal are a good team and congratulate them. No happening. Ever.

27 May 2026 11:11:29
Yes, that is the worry, playing Thursdays, Iron.

27 May 2026 11:27:51
Welcome Ironside. I have a soft spot for your team, 100moyes did not want to leave.

Walter, u definitely posted before me, not sure re tt.

27 May 2026 11:41:19
Glad West Ham sticking by Nuno Espirito, Iron Rangers. ? I think he's a very good manager who I'm sure and hope brings the Hammers back up where they belong. ?

27 May 2026 11:45:49
Hi John.

He didn't want to be Head Coach. He wanted to remain Manager and have control over all signings. That model was no longer preferred at WHU, rightly or wrongly.

Again, though, WHU problem isn't Moyes left, though. Lots of Clubs lose Managers and continue to perform. The problem was who we appointed and the scattergun recruitment to suit their style of play.

The owner meddling has certainly not helped in any way. I'm happy Nuno is getting a fair crack of the whip, and Rohl both deserve a pre-season and a chance to rebuild their squads alongside the football personnel in recruitment and scouting. Quick fixes rarely work. Let's hope both Clubs can find some consistency this season.

27 May 2026 12:07:41
Welcome Iron. The Copland Front are cracking seats, pal. I'm in the main stand myself and have been for 26 years. It's tough going the now being a bear but you know the cry. Keep posting bud.

27 May 2026 12:09:37
Iron, aye, that sounds like a plan, don't mind London myself for short breaks.
Travel down every November for the Remembrance Parade at the Cenotaph as well as other trips with the Missus.

27 May 2026 12:22:11
It was a great seat 4 lads. I bought it when Murray launched the Blue Heaven project, my name was on it for 25 years, I think. That was 97/98? Around that time, as I was serving in South Armagh at the time, my Da sat on it in my absence when I was away.

I had it until 2012 when I moved abroad for a few years then settled in Essex. Great times.

27 May 2026 12:24:59
Lincoln, if you need a few tips for cheap digs shout me nearer the time. Plenty in Essex, and you're only 30 minutes on a train, mate.

27 May 2026 12:30:03
Cheers, Iron, appreciate that pal.

27 May 2026 12:46:04
Welcome Iron! Like you, I'm an exiled sweaty sock living in England, in Hastings, East Sussex, have been for over 40 years. I still post occasionally and always look out for the Teddy Bears' results. I wish we could get one or two home-grown Scots again, the likes of Barry Ferguson, for instance, or, further back, John Greig! Shankland looks like a very good signing.

Let's have one or two more, please. Gers fans are entitled to better than what has happened over the last 12 or 13 years. WATP.

27 May 2026 12:47:43
Iron, welcome, mate. Totally agree re London, like you, I love it.

27 May 2026 12:49:23
Welcome Iron. ??

27 May 2026 12:57:33
Great posts, Iron, and welcome to the site.
I go as far back as Ally taking over as manager, and can remember posters like BigWull who must have been one of the first on here. Coops (Sir Walter), Stormtrooper (used to be KJA9 or similar), John, Stig, Tom, Davie1980, Mark44 (haven't seen Mark for a while. Hope you're ok pal), Jaws, Irvger, mph etc etc have all been on for a few years now. My pals BB4, Forky, Angus, etc appeared a bit later.
Aph (Asa) seems to have moved on, which is a pity as he offered a lot to the site.
Everybody has off days, including me, and things can go a bit too far at times, resulting in a bit of friction, but generally we all get on pretty well. Not bad for a lunatic asylum, I say.

I'm a bit of a workaholic and don't post as much as I'd like due to the lack of hours in the day, but I enjoy looking in from time to time to see what's happening.
Hopefully we can turn things around next season with a few changes and some shrewd signings. I've a feeling we won't be far away, as it looks as if the manager is going to be well backed in the transfer window.
Take care and hope you have something to shout about in London next season when the Hammers get themselves back into the top flight. I remember being at a game at Upton Park 51 years ago as an 18 year old. They were playing Stoke City, I think, and it was that far back that Alan Hudson was playing for Stoke. Special ground with special fans.

27 May 2026 12:58:18
Good times, Iron - Dogs country and those sneaking into the south. I was over there for a bit too. The locals were something else when they weren't spitting at us. ? I love Crossmaglen, what memories.

27 May 2026 13:01:40
Welcome Iron. Always liked West Ham. Back in the day with Moore, Hurst, Peters, but think favourite player was Billy Bonds.

27 May 2026 13:26:51
Bandit Country! XMG, Forkhill, Silverbridge, Camlough, Bessbrook! Fantastic time.

Seeker, it was around then I came across this site.

Great club, Shanski, proper good old fashioned club. Lost its soul, leaving the Boleyn, which was probably the right decision if you couldn't modernise or extend there, but the London/Olympic stadium is currently not fit for football.

27 May 2026 17:09:24
Have to agree about London Stadium, always thought Boleyn and Goodison were best for atmosphere.

27 May 2026 20:04:57
Welcome, Iron. Are you Aphe in disguise? ? From getting sent to the depths of hell and watching that mob win everything over the years, this season was the worst to take. Dreadful Celtic team and constant infighting with the board was our best chance in years, but we bottled it.

Just renewed the season tickets, but can't take much more of the slow lethargic passing in defence and attacking down the wing only for the ball to end up back at the goalkeeper. Woeful to watch.

27 May 2026 21:45:06
Lawrence, I had no clue what his name was. The only person I remember on here over a decade is Sir Watty for his use of emojis.

He posted some good stuff thou. He done me no harm. I hope he's well wherever he is. Opinions are like a******** and too many folk end up arguing over them. Look at the Dessers fiasco tonight. ??‍♂️?
