Shanks, yes 100%, but for me I'd like Watt in, possibly Neil too & I'd like McCrorie covers RB & other positions, utility lad similar to Sterling & the lad Skoglund has been mentioned for a while so would assume there's summit about him.

Shankland yes, other two no. Only other Hearts player I'd want would be Braga. However, after the stunt we have pulled with Shankland getting their captain for free, I doubt Hearts will want to sell us anyone else in the near future.

Wishy, let's be clear on this stunt, as you call it, mate. ? It was Lawrence Shankland and his agent that demanded this was inserted into his contract before he would sign any new deal with Hearts last season. ?
It's the only way Shankland would continue at Hearts if they agreed to this, and of course they agreed as it was the only way they were able to keep him, and they of course hoped that Rangers wouldn't come for him this summer.
? It was a clever move by Shanks and his agent because, as we all know, he was desperate to sign for his boyhood idols and was always still hoping they'd come for him, and by insisting this was put in to his new Hearts deal, would make it so much easier for Rangers to get him if they moved to sign him, and of course we did. ? ??

If that's the case, then for me I don't see how a player could prove any more about wanting to pull on our jersey & proves the desire & commitment to it & took some balls to do that too as there would be no guarantee that we would go for him.
One thing I don't doubt is that now he has the jersey, he will give 100% every time he has it on. Love him or hate him, you have to admire that.

He is a better defender than Tav, so he ain't a downgrade on that. He would be a downgrade on goals and assists. Just depends what you want from your defenders.

Steinwender isn't even a right back, he's a centre back filling in. I know we want some players who know the league, but they don't all have to be. If we can find a foreign right back as good as Rommens is at left back that will do me.

We seem to forget that a lot of our games are on front foot, so we want attacking full backs who can either run at 400MPH to get back, or we play a system which covers for them when they get back. If we don't do that, then it won't be long before both FBs are being criticised for not getting back quickly enough.

Modern managers want them up the wing, that's the problem, but Tav couldn't get back to defence so easily. Will miss his dead ball expertise though.
