It's as if some people on here forget we had Tav for 11 seasons so he knows everything that our league is all about and was captain. Can anyone tell me the difference that made? Souttar knows our league and look how he's been doing! Barron knows our league, Raskin, Dio, Miovski and Butland all been here a bit now and know the league.

So for the love of my sanity can we stop with the "must know the league"

I just want winners and we ain't getting that in our league, better mentality and a desire to win.

I want the best players we can attract / afford for the positions we need to strengthen.
Don't care where they are from.
We shouldn't be hindering ourselves buying Scottish or Rangers men "just because" unless they are up to the required standard.

Exactly, MPH.

The only winners in Scotland are from them, and that kills me to say it but it's true.

I will take will to win and desire/effort from any league in the world of any nationality.

I want good solid pros who have that bit of ability, like Rommens for example.

A lot of the things people say we need aren't even tangible. Some have said we need guys who know the demands and expectations. What are the demands and expectations? To win games of football and a trophy. I think most managers and players understand that. If they don't, we have Barry Ferguson working as ambassador, who can explain it - 'At Rangers it's important to win.

The fans want to win a trophy, etc'. It would take about 10mins.

McCoist was a Rangers Man, and he was one of the most clueless managers I've ever seen. The top priority when bringing anyone to this club must be ability.

The term that is most often used by our recruitment team is rebalancing, which I think is correct.

This will include youth and experience, technical and physical, homegrown and international etc etc etc.

Just being homegrown or having experience of the league isn't a single deciding factor in signing a player, but throughout the squad there is a benefit to having these attributes - providing these are balanced out by players with complimentary attributes.

Bigbluejim, tell me and others what we can or can not say on here now. You don't like it, that's fine, that's your opinion. Funny how you never mentioned the 100s of international flops that have come to the SPL and couldn't handle the physicality of the game, so I'll ask again.

Please tell some of us on here what we can or can not say, or here's an idea. How about if you don't like wordings of some1s thread, there is the option you could quite simply scroll on, no.

The mentality isn't just to win games of football, though, as all players have that. The issue here is the reaction from fans if you drop points. I am not sure the same (over) reaction happens anywhere else to the same extent.

Yes, fans get upset at other clubs, but perhaps are more accepting that you can't win every game no matter if the club has a lower budget. It is those demands that players will take longer to appreciate and understand.

Have to agree, BbJ, also throw in that they get it also.

Spot on as always, Ehl.

You put the point across more eloquently than I could.

Rebalancing was a term used by Clement too. Maybe I first heard it used by him and so his ghost lives on and I'm glad about that. Regarding Scottish players - the way I read that comment was that he was aware that Scottish players that could have been recruited and which would have made a difference were not recruited.

Angus, the expectation at our club has never changed and will never change and even players from our league will struggle with that expectation.

I guess, yes, there are clubs in the world that it's not seen as a big deal if you lose, but any player doing their homework on signing for us will soon realise that isn't the case here, so should come expecting that kind of pressure immediately.

Davie why don't you take your own advice then and scroll past. You are telling me what I can and can't post!

Nowhere did I say don't post but just that this "we must get people who understand our league" is not something that we didn't have as I stated many players who have been here long enough to "get it" or are from our league originally. How has that done us this last 16 years Davie??

But I guess you just don't like me pointing out the flaw of your logic huh
