Three midfielders I'd like to see us sign for next season.
All Scottish to help the quota:

Elliot Watt- the type of player we've been badly lacking. Someone who can put their foot on the ball and dictate the pace of a game from the base of midfield.

Lewis Ferguson - captain material and would "get it" (for those who always ask what that means- a player who will hurt if we lose a game and let others know of the standards required to play for Rangers). Also has a bit a dig and determination.

Lennon Miller - hasn't settled in Italy with game time. Technically very good and can break the lines from midfield forward as well as chipping in with goals and assists. Would also have sell on value.

Sell Raskin, Dio, Aasgaard and Bajrami to fund them.

18 May 2026 16:46:27
These players would want to play in Sco and for Rangers. Lennon Miller didn't want to play for Rangers or in Sco, and I don't think LF will come back to Sco in a hurry.

18 May 2026 17:03:07
Can imagine getting enough funds from selling those 4. Can't see us getting a lot of them. Teams are paying good money for players from the third best team in Scotland.

18 May 2026 17:03:54
Watt isn't homegrown, I don't believe, though he is a good player.

18 May 2026 17:13:07
I think the manager at Udinese said he would be introduced to the team gradually, but the manager, despite that, has played 23 times this season for them. I have only read reports that he is enjoying Italy, but I don't have any inside info.

Re Ferguson, I just don't get it. Other than he is Scottish and a Rangers fan (is he?), I just don't see him being the game changer we need.

He is doing well in Italy, I know, and other teams want him, so I know it is just me, but I haven't been that impressed any time I have seen him; and I include his time at Aberdeen in that.

18 May 2026 17:14:53
I'm very surprised to hear that Miller hasn't settled in Italy. It was only a few weeks ago I was speaking to people close to him and he was loving it.

18 May 2026 17:19:27
Would love Lewis Ferguson here!

18 May 2026 17:38:16
Angus, a lot of folk share your view on Ferguson, especially a lot of fans of the national team.

Personally I'd love to see him sign, think he's everything we've been missing.

18 May 2026 17:42:58
Miller is 100% loving Italy.

18 May 2026 17:48:17
Dado, Hibs has sold Bowie for quite a few million, and they've finished 5th.
We've bought a striker that's from the lower divisions in Germany for 5 million.
Raskin should demand 15 million imo.

Dio would be over 5 million. Bajrami and Aasgaard could go for 1-3m each.

Re Ferguson, Juve and Inter have been sniffing about him, but aye he's not good enough for us. ?

18 May 2026 18:23:39
That is a very valid point, Blue. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get £15m for Raskin, I just don't see that good a player. I think we'll be fortunate to get £8m, less the 20% to his previous team.

Dio, perhaps £8m as well?

18 May 2026 18:43:00
Just to add to the midfielders the OP has stated, ie. Lewis Ferguson, Elliot Watt etc, I would also say Dan Neil would be a really good signing for us and is captain material also. ? I also wouldn't be against Kenny McLean being signed as he gets what it means to play for us and can play in our Scottish league, and age is only a number and imo we could easily get 3 years out of Kenny McLean.

?

18 May 2026 18:49:01
EHL, I admit I am just like every fan and don't always see what the professionals see. I was basing my opinion on the few European games he played for his club, and he drifted around the peripherals. But I would always bow to a professional eye on a player. If he comes like every other player he gets my full support.

18 May 2026 19:02:18
Miller will not be signing for Rangers this summer. He is enjoying his time in Italy, I have been told. He started the game yesterday as well, but I didn't catch it as I was driving down south.

18 May 2026 19:02:58
I agree, Dado. I was a big Raskin fan but the more time goes on he flatters to deceive and I think his ego could be causing issues (I might be wrong).
Dan Neil would be a good signing, SWS, a leader and has qualities we don't have in the middle of the park. All of our CMs are much of a muchness.

18 May 2026 19:03:03
Lewis Ferguson does a lot of the dirty work, and my opinion is we have missed that, and is a massive upgrade on Barron.

18 May 2026 19:17:50
I would like Dan Neil. My star speaks highly of him. Honestly, I'd make sure we have Cammy Devlin. His engine and aggression are sadly missed in our midfield. Barron is the only player who adds this in our current midfield. We noticed when he was missing.

18 May 2026 19:48:49
Dado, he's got everything we need and more. Lad's got everything for a cm, very good footballer brain as well. Look him up, that'd give you an idea if you've never seen him. Type of player or something like that on Google. Only 24 as well.

18 May 2026 19:58:29
We'd get Ferguson for the money we get, so Raskin, maybe even change, Ferguson and Niel would be class.

18 May 2026 20:12:57
We should have had Ferguson before! Most didn't want him! imo, exactly what we lack. Want to see Dio stay. Think Raskin is gone.

18 May 2026 20:15:18
Honestly, a midfield 3 of Ferguson, Neil or Watt, and McLean would be a step up on what we had last season. Decent experience, and going by their stats, they're all better than what we had this season.

18 May 2026 20:28:33
Follow Scotland everywhere. Ehl/Angus, and, like Angus, I've not been highly impressed even once. The thing is I can only form an opinion for Scotland, as I've never seen him play in Italy.

18 May 2026 20:35:39
Dan Neil, Lewis Ferguson, Chukwuani.

18 May 2026 21:04:30
MVG - tbh I don't see what Chukwuani brings - looks slow and cumbersome to me. Dithers too much on the ball for up here.
Yet to be convinced. Has all the tools / attributes, a bit like Aasgaard, but doesn't do enough with them for me.

18 May 2026 21:45:52
A lot of people on here must watch a lot of games of different clubs in different countries.
Lots of opinions on different players. ?

18 May 2026 21:46:15
I'd have no issue with Dan Neil, McLean or Elliot Watt signing. All 3 would be great additions. Add to that the energy of Barron, Cameron & I'd also keep Chucky. He hasn't been too bad, only been here since Jan so might benefit from full pre season if that happens. We're already better in midfield than we are now.

18 May 2026 22:27:54
Dado, that means if he comes he will be rotten then ? He ain't got a great record with players.

18 May 2026 22:41:50
Pieter, it's not too difficult to watch a lot of football of different teams these days. ? Championship and Premiership are on Sky most days a week.
German football and Italian football aren't too hard to find also.

18 May 2026 22:50:48
Blue, my info from Watts' relative is that Rangers had an unofficial offer of 1.2m rejected by Motherwell, but the player himself is fine with seeing out his year with European football at Well, then move back south and Rangers looks unlikely.

18 May 2026 22:55:54
Could change though. Don't know how many times I can keep asking the person if he's coming to Rangers without annoying them lol.

19 May 2026 01:12:29
Cheers Forever, if he isn't jumping to come on board, then he probably isn't the player we want.

19 May 2026 04:36:38
Rangers need a number 6 as a priority - a specialist in that position. Lewis Ferguson isn't a number 6. Even if Ferguson was signed, we would need to go and get a number 6.

19 May 2026 05:56:24
Rohl, Niel would be our 6. Easily control a game from that position, excellent range of passing. We sign him and he'll be getting raved about in jig time.

19 May 2026 06:27:40
I agree, My star. ? Both Dan Neil and Elliot Watt would be very good as our no.6 at Rangers. ???
