I have to laugh at these so called fans. These are the same players who were performing under the same manager who started reducing the deficit. Now these players stopped performing and its back to the manager fault. Who is he supposed to pick if these players down tools. Too many times have we at Rangers allowed players to dictate. No one player is bigger than the club. Tav yes he remained at us for 11 years because nobody else wanted him. He was never a captain and has cost us in games time after time.
However when he pulled that jersey on I still hoped he would do it. Sadly he didn't. I'll be glad to see Tav and Raskin leave as I feel they disrupt the team. I don't often agree with Chris Sutton but he got it 100 percent about Tav causing us games with his decision making. So let's do what we used to do get behind the team and the manager. Remember people have got their wishes before and the manager turned out to be of no use. We had three managers try and work with some of these players that should say it all.

Utter nonsense about Tav. He stayed at Rangers because countless managers thought him worthy of a new contract and was made captain by 7 of them.
I do agree that the players should take the blame for losing out on the league, but it certainly was a lot more than Tav and Raskin's fault and Rohl's decision making and tactics have been flawed throughout.
By the way, who picked Tav at right back against Celtic after he picked up an ankle injury against Hearts, despite having Sterling, Aarons and, now it appears, Djiga, who could all have filled in at right back.

Another pointless thread just to bash James Tavernier. How very boring.
James Tavernier has left Rangers. He has moved on with his life. Time for you to move on with yours.

Wullie, totally agree on the gist of your post, mate, but there's way more than Tav and Raskin at fault. Danny has shown he'll not let any of them take the single fish. That'll do for me, we've been crying out for manager that will stand up to these weak minded players for years.

Let me ask a question, did Captain Tav stay and support the boys on Wednesday, and did he go to Falkirk yesterday, answer NO, but our Club made him a multi millionaire, and that was what he thought of the fans that have praised him, and kicked his butt when he needed it. I myself have become totally dismayed by him and that sauntering back and forth during a game when he should have been busting a gut to get back in cover and stop a cross.
No offence but I find all of this Tav praise and Danny bashing a bit much. If someone had come in for him during the 11 years he would've been gone, let's all just get behind the owners and the Manager in his 1st full season with his own choice of players and see where we are next season.

Don't agree with the "so called fans" part. We all have different opinions, but Tav let himself down. As most say, a great player but never a captain.

Tav is a disgrace to the Rangers shirt and he thought he was bigger than the club. He can feck off and not come back, stinking attitude.

For me, it's easy. Did we get our money's worth out of Tav? You're damn right we did!

Tav a disgrace to the shirt?
Never in a million years, but you are entitled to your opinion, just like I am.
Someone mentioned elsewhere Tav has departed, and we should move on too.

Bit heavy, Storm, not my fav player but he's not a disgrace, dr missed a trick in a dead rubber game to give him a goodbye by bringing him off after an hour (good enough to be started at Parkhead for some reason). It would of got him a bit of respect from other players and he needs that badly going forward.

I find it sad that people continue to berate a player who has contributed so much to the team over a long period of time. He wasn't the greatest, but one of a few who had the robustness and ability to have been successful in some of our better teams of the past. Yes, he was paid well, but he was well entitled to it - and will earn more in his next move, no doubt.
I sometimes wonder if we actually deserve a good team the way that we are so quick to condemn our own players. Who would want to bust a gut for a team in that environment? There have been several players who have underperformed in a Rangers jersey. Record-breaker Tav isn't one. A sad end to his Rangers career, yes, but I wish him well as he moves on.

It's not heavy at all, after the way he acted the other day, he thinks he is more important than the team, so for me, he is a disgrace.

BA22, I tend to agree with you. I think there is truth to the saying that you get the team you deserve, and maybe that is what we are seeing right now. Real support is about getting behind the players when they are struggling, giving them that extra lift to turn draws or losses into wins. Unfortunately, it feels like we forget that we win and lose as a team. One player alone can't fix everything or win us the league. Scapegoating Tav just because he has been here the longest feels like an easy way out, and it is unfair to blame him for every title loss.
There are wider changes needed at the club rather than just focusing on one individual. I don't think, however, he will ever struggle to get respect from teammates and that is more important, or would be to me, than the false acclaim of any fan group.
No wonder we never win if we can't see the good of our own before the bad parts everybody has. Sad, really.
