It's not difficult to see why players go for huge amounts.
It's the same the world over.
Scotland is no different.
O'Reilly – young, goal scoring midfielder with Brighton using Blooms data analysis and probably thinking they can increase his value x2 if he performs in the EPL.
Jota – young, talented, consistent goal scoring winger away to the riches of Saudi.
Tierney – best young Scottish LB in years. Injuries held him back.
Bassey – young, immense EL displays.
Dembele – young, goal scoring striker.
Kuhn – another young consistent goal scoring winger.
Edouard - young, goal scoring striker.

Ajer – I never really got the fee Brentford paid for him.
Van Dijk – name says it all.
Wanyama – another I never really got the fee Southampton paid for him.
Patterson – best young Scottish RB in years. Injuries held him back.
Hutton – previous best young RB in years.
Igamane – very talented young striker.
And the list goes on.
Players who have been outstanding for club or an excellent European campaign.
It's the same the opposite way.
Celtic gambled on Jota, Engels and Edouard hoping they could sell them on for a profit.
The same possibly with Rangers with Chermiti and Raskin.

Nearly every single player you named played in successful teams, not teams in turmoil. The problem Raskin and Chermiti have is they are in the latter category. Also, our European performances don't help with their value.

I think Raskin, at his very best, is a 20m player, but when you factor in his form, teams' form, etc., you will be lucky to get half that in my opinion.

Thankfully other teams aren't buying our team that's in turmoil. I am sure they will look beyond current form.

Raskin would be better if he was surrounded by better players, look at his international performances.

Tav, for example, used to be a great crosser and passer (im talking years ago), and had he been playing with better strikers would have had so many more assists, but he was never a RB/defender.
Tav should have moved up to RM a decade ago.

Can't remember Rangers being offered millions for Tav at his prime, Ally.
Unless I missed it. ?

Tav should never have been moved up, for the reason he can't and couldn't play there, and why has every manager since he came in never moved him up there?
