Why are so many not willing to give DR a full season with his own players. But so many would take SG back who took 4 years to achieve anything. Both can be classed as projects but one was allowed much more time to come good.
Who's to say DR won't come good.
I for one am happy to give him a chance, we just can't go on changing manager every 6, 9, 12 months.

Also which so called top manager would be willing to step into the basket case club that is Rangers knowing that if half a season in, things are not as we all want, he'll more than likely join the ever growing list of failed managers/coaches.
If as reported DR is manager/coach next season we need to get fully behind him as this circus of employ, remove just can't go on.

Great post, Duntocher Blue.
Even though Danny has not hit the target this season (league title), we simply cannot continue this constant managerial merry go round season after season.
I hope the decision makers at the club think long and hard, and have a sensible, suitable alternative lined up If they decide to change the entire set up once again.

As many other posters have stated, who would be willing to take us on, given our recent hire/ fire track record?

12 May 2026 12:11:33
I'll tell you for why. There were clear signs of progress with Gerrard. He also had higher standards and less money to spend. And a better coaching team around him. And he was a leader.

12 May 2026 12:18:15
I am not a big fan of Stevie G but his team showed progression, which probably wasn't hard considering the state we were in. It might have taken him 4 years to win the league from a very good Celtic side, but look at his record in Europe, it shows we were getting better and better each season.

12 May 2026 12:22:05
The club have went backwards under him. His over all win % is one of the worst in Rangers history. He lost 3 in a row, something even Martin didn't do. He's made Raskin worse, he's made every player worse apart from maybe Fernandez and Chermiti. He constantly sends out the wrong team, then the wrong subs. He constantly sits back after taking a lead. He talks a lot of nonsense. If he's here next season, we will be looking for a new manager in December, and that's a fact.

He's dire, he was third or forth choice as well. ? He should be nowhere near a job like the Rangers job, we need a manager, a proper manager, not some young clueless coach who can set up some fancy drills in training and might be a great coach in 10 years time. We are Rangers, we don't have time, we need to win and we need to win now.

12 May 2026 12:26:52
Gerrard made clear progress because he bought a whole group of players to start with, around 20. And did he really improve them or did he just buy more again each window?

12 May 2026 12:27:33
SG showed progress as he took over from Murty. Rohl has shown progress as he took over from Martin. Those who talk about SG progressing forget just how bad we were. Humped out of the cups constantly. Yes, we got there eventually with the league, but it took 4 seasons. Rohl won't get 4 seasons, but if he did I have no doubt he would deliver.

12 May 2026 12:32:50
He's absolutely made Moore better, Mustc. ? If you're going to fillet the guy, get everything right.

12 May 2026 12:47:24
Because we've seen enough, he's absolutely hopeless.

12 May 2026 12:49:00
Guys, can we stop with the revisionism? SG was a walking dead man until COVID cut the season short. Fans were calling for his head. Andy Halliday did an interview, saying the players needed to get it together or they were going to get SG sacked (he was our player at the time for clarity). We had lost to Hamilton 1-0 at home, beat 2-1 off Hearts who were bottom, put out the cups by Hearts and St Mirren during another post winter collapse, were struggling against low blocks as usual and then the season was stopped for COVID and the other mob were handed a title in a forest.

I agree with SWS, we can't just bend the truth on stuff to suit our narrative.

Since Rohl came in, Moore, Chermiti, Fernandez and Barron, pre-injury, all improved. We improved our offensive metrics, and initially were stronger defensively.

Is Rohl the man? I really don't know and lean towards no. But I'm fed up of doing the same routine of sacking managers constantly, changing philosophy constantly, rinsing and repeating the process of sacking, rebuilding and falling apart. The only success we've had has been from sticking it out with one manager, maybe that's what we need to do even though as it stands I feel completely detached from this squad and the club due to another season of failure.

12 May 2026 12:53:38
I would disagree that Rohl made good signings, Rommens has been good but another who misses too many games, Naderi has looked not bad although has shown little goal threat and is always injured. Chukwuani started well but his form has fallen off a cliff and Skov Olsen has been a disaster. My main complaint would be that apart from Rommens we didn't fill the gaps we needed to push on for a title challenge.

No, No.6, No attacking midfielder, No goal scoring striker and, as it turned out, No right winger, instead a similar midfielder to what we had, a raw inexperienced striker and an over the hill wide man. What was Rohl thinking in January?

12 May 2026 13:02:38
We'll be lucky to finish third or fourth next season.

12 May 2026 13:03:09
I am torn myself between my desperation for some stability and continuity at the club versus my doubts over the poor results, not just in last 3 games but last dozen or so.

I genuinely think we had the best squad. We definitely backed the manager in January and we have got nothing back from it.

But the blue tinted specs are out in force with SG imo.

His teams collapsed much earlier and from better positions that we did this season.

There is no chance he would get that time now as the fan base has gotten more impatient, understandably so.

I normally want us to go a certain direction and usually have some conviction on that. But right now I am clueless as to what I want us to do.

12 May 2026 13:24:45
Lol, win percentage. Win percentage is only comparable if they have played similar amount of games. If I took over Rangers tomorrow and beat Hibs, my win percentage would be the best of any Rangers manager in history. Sick of these stupid stats that don't make sense unless similar.

It's like a striker coming on in the last 5 minutes of 10 games and scoring 1 goal. His record would be 1 goal in 10 games according to these stats. But in reality it's 1 goal in 50 minutes.

12 May 2026 13:33:43
So, going by some comments, people don't believe Danny has shown progress. Heard it all now lol.

12 May 2026 13:51:20
Wslgers? You say "What was Rohl thinking?" Did he actually have a say in those players we bought?

12 May 2026 16:14:27
If we lose the next two games, do we still stand by him?
