Can I bring up a post that's too far down now from last night.
Regarding getting someone with Scottish experience into the coaching set up,
Ehl are u availible mate?
But I get that list wasn't striking with excitement, there isn't many.
John I didn't say or rather mean that u said anything about Scot's coaches I said u mentioned his no2 isn't happy and would be leaving.
Did u not mate? Sorry if I'm wrong but I think u did.
I agree if we were winning it wouldn't be an issue but part of reason we aren't winning is lack of understanding of this league and style of football and what it takes to win.
Lastly, EHL I also worry has the people making playing decisions got the knowledge to make this right.
I mentioned other day, Skov massive failure and chuckwuani isn't impressing.
I like Naderi and Rommens but we need a British and pref Scot's core in the squad if not the 11

Na, not for me Stevie, I much prefer working with players on a 1-2-1 basis.
I think your point is valid and it's something the club are addressing. Rohl has invited a number of ex players to a number of training sessions, and to team meetings as he realises there is a massive disconnect between the current squad and the "club".
I think we'll see more of this, and in a more formal manner, from the start of next season.
Also, I know for a fact that the recruitment team are working on a number of targets with experience in Scottish Football. Some are older players that will probabilistic a few eyebrows, but the purpose is to bring them in for their experience with a potential view to coaching rolls.
The Americans are very focused on recovering our identity and about trying to create sustainability.

That is reassuring, EHL.
Given the depth and breadth of your knowledge, I have you down as a future CEO.
06 May 2026 22:12:49
Yes, I said someone in his backroom wants back home, Stevie.
06 May 2026 22:14:13
Thanks Ehl.
Danny does get the club and fans a tradition, he does get it.
My worry is getting it doesn't mean you're going to be a success.
John McGlynn would be a great addition to back room.
I know it's a German norm to have ex players run the club too to bottom.
If he stays, I'm not against it. I just think 3 must wins, zero wins, isn't going to be acceptable to most.
Do u think he should stay, mate? Just your own personal opinion?

Get in Ian McCall or Billy Reid if Danny is losing his assistant. They would kick some bums and know the Scottish game inside out. An old head would benefit and help Rohl better.
06 May 2026 22:26:06
Cheers, John. That's all I meant. Sorry I've probably not put full stops n that where I should have.
If he brings in a knowledgable SPL experienced coach or Erwin to his staff, it could really make a big difference. There's a fine line between success and failure, sometimes.

I don't care where the players are from. They just need to have fight, heart and desire as a bare minimum, because not many have that in the squad just now.
06 May 2026 22:33:54
Jardine, for my sins I've earned a living in Scottish Football in one form or another from the age of 16.
06 May 2026 22:35:36
Chuckwuani looked good when he came in, just like Antman. What are we doing to these players??
06 May 2026 22:36:16
For me it's Neil McCann. Talks so well about football philosophy etc and I think if he had something to say to Danny or the players he would step up and say it. I seen Bazza's name on the list, and as much as I like him, he would 100% be the wrong choice.
06 May 2026 22:41:28
I forgot about Billy Reid. I actually said he would be good if Gerrard came back, as he won't get Holland now.
Billy Reid is the outstanding candidate for the job and potentially could take over in a few years.
Billy Reid.

Stevie, your a good all rounder and decent guy.
Now and again you come up with something crazy.
John McGlyn, born n bred Tim since God was at school, at Rangers, that's up there amongst your classics.
Billy Reid or Ian McColl, now that's a fantastic prospect on our coaching team

Tom, thanks mate. Appreciate that compliment bud.
We clashed in my early days quite a bit, but I grew to have a lot of respect for u, and a lot of agreements in opinions.
I didn't know that of McGlynn, and u have probably put me off.
Billy Reid really is an appealing idea to me.
The thing is, Tom, we know it's never going to be reality, and it's very frustrating.
We know what's needed, same as with formation problems under Le Guen, Clement, now Rohl.
This continental 2 cm's just doesn't work in this country, and it never will.
Aphe, that's why we all kind of say about Scots this British that. It's not foreign biased, it truly isn't, mate.
4 of our greatest 11 are non Scots.
Advocaat maybe best time of my life as a Rangers fan and all the foreigners we were so so lucky to see in our colours.
It's just that we are a different breed of people really, that's why our game isn't easy when the prima Donnas get here and think it's a stroll. Even Ronald de Boer was very poor when he got here. He knod of knuckles down.
Guivarch World Cup winner bottled it.
Basil boil
Over at Celtic Juninho and Ljunberg.
When u play in this country it's not like even England.
Strange game we play.
A Scottish no2 for Rohl and I think most our draws would be wins.
07 May 2026 06:46:07
StevieG, I think u make a good point about the foreign v Scots debate. And, I don't mean British, because even the English struggle to adapt so would be put in the foreign category.
07 May 2026 07:09:36
Both Ian McColl and wee Billy Reid are superb coaches and would be superb appointments for us. ?
07 May 2026 07:12:41
What's your overall thoughts on Lewis Ferguson EHL? ? Do you think he'll be targeted, mate? ? I like a good few on here, have heard Kenny McLean of Norwich is definitely a target for us. ?
07 May 2026 07:37:08
I think there is zero chance of us signing Ferguson.
Hope I'm wrong though, as he's a fantastic footballer.
07 May 2026 08:27:59
Wasn't long ago Ferguson was being touted by Juve & the Milan clubs after a fantastic start in Italy, but seems to have gone off the boil since injury. Will depend how much his club want & if they are determined to get rid of him. I know a lot don't like the idea but McLean ticks all the right boxes for me just now. 1st he's Scottish & has had cracking seasons down south, knows this league, this club, has good experience at club & international lvls & plays the way we are missing.
Will definitely hold the ball & slow things down a bit, could be a good shout for captain too. Might be older at 34, but having the likes of Davis, McCulloch, Arfield etc at the club did us no harm at all. ??♂️
