I honestly believe we will finish third and Hearts will win the league. But I'm feeling positive for next year.
I think Danny will stay and we will pocket in the region of 50m for transfers but as we are a player trading club we will spend 15m on projects and a wad on loan players. Tav will still be our captain but on the bench for the whole season, with the vice being picked from a fan in the stadium in a lucky dip. Our new club moto will be" we will learn from this". Around about November a new dynamic up and coming manager will come in and take over whilst around May, the 25th chairman in 4 years will hail the fighting spirt of us finishing third whilst winning nothing. ?
That may seem a bit OT but it's how fans might look at the last 6 years. I'm also not blaming anyone or finger pointing because it was no one's fault. ??.

I'm not having a go at Rohl, but the way we play is so far away from the excitement Motherwell play. The running beyond & stretching of our defence, aligned with cute little penetrating balls between attack, is miles away from the boring play we have at the moment.
I've said this before, but Motherwell were like Barcelona today against us.
Can anyone shed any light on why a free-flowing team of 'lesser' footballers make us look so average?

Not just us, Bathgate.

Windy, you realise this tavs last season.

Hearts and Celtic managed to beat them recently. This is just Rangers on a loop. Fail fail fail.

Star
The point is we shouldn't be looking so abject with the cost of our squad.
The way Motherwell play is so refreshing and I'd love for us to adopt that style.

Davie, yep. It's just a mish mass of stuff indicating how I feel at this moment in time. ?

Why can't we play well for 90 plus mins? Is it a fitness issue. I wouldn't blame the manager for today, as I think it must be a mentality issue, as whenever we get into a challenging position we fold.

Sorry, but Danny put out the wrong lineup so we can blame manager.
You take the praise then you have to take the flak too.

We're on 12 draws, that's the real problem. How many draws when Rm left? Like 5? All these silly draws have cost us. We've only lost 3 games. Obviously today wasn't the time to lose, but it's the draws that have ruined things.
Dr now has to have a serious talk with the team and himself. No choice now, but win every game & hope Hearts drop points elsewhere or it's game over.

Bathgate, it's a brilliant question as to why their manager can have them play like that, especially as he's only been in the job for nine-odd months. A team with 40-year-old O'Donnell, a Celtic reject in Welsh, a really good player in Mashinwashe, and let's be totally honest, the rest are journeymen. So it's a really relevant question as to why he has them playing like that after spending EUR290, 000, while our team that cost millions were chasing shadows for 45 minutes at our own park. It honestly gives me the fear. I like Danny, but our football has been dire all season; nobody can deny that.
Jens has walked into a team and had them playing excellently all season; why is that? I totally agree regarding how refreshing it is to watch them. I actually enjoy watching them, obviously not today. I would also love us to play football like that as well, Bathgate, why can't we? Would we swap many, if any, of our first 11 for Motherwell's first 11? Highly doubtful, apart from Mashinwashe. So we obviously have a better team, so why do we look so poor and lost at times?

Bathgate - Reason is so called lesser footballers put in the workrate from min one till end of game - we had the usual arrogant turn up and we will win attitude. Also, if we continue to funnel back every time opponents have the ball, and basically ballwatch, we get what we deserve. They shut down, harried and chased for every ball, something we would not do, so fair play to the so called lesser players who work their socks off and show us up, mostly for the prima donnas we think we are!
From our defence yesterday, only Manny is one I would keep, the others have various faults and failings that are easily seen. Not one of Butland's finest either? Bring back Rommens, and even when Tav came on we looked more balanced.
Only Manny and Rommens should be starters next season at back, and for God's sake the main thing we need next season is an organiser/leader and captain on the park as a priority (crying out for this for years). The usual happened yesterday when goals were lost too; we just looked at each other like lost wee boys. Over to you, Dr, to get some grafters on park too, as Hearts will come at us all guns blazing, and no doubt we will shrink back into our shell. ? Basically we were made to look like the away team yesterday on our own turf!

Jaws, nice to see you posting mate, but it's not solely on Danny yesterday, but he had a massive part to play in that: wrong line up, wrong formation and wrong sub with Barron for Assagaard.

Lots on here crying to play 2 up top. But Miovski doesn't work the way Naderi does. He and Gassama are better coming on fresh late in the game against tiring defences. Motherwell gifted goals against the Tim's because of their press. Also, getting touch tight against a passing team means you can get away with small fouls under the guise of a press. We stand off, and then the foul is obvious, and a card.
We tend not to do that either. There were so many concerns yesterday. Why do we lose so many goals despite giving opposition so few opportunities? In the last two games we lost 6 goals from 16 shots. In contrast, why do we need so many chances to score? Chermiti scores, or Moore nets rebound, and we probably take 3 points. We have a manager but also a large team of coaches who must know the reason if not the answer.
