I can't say in all my years of playing and now watching the beautiful game that I have ever seeing such gang violence, not just here but all over the world. We have our element as do the other side, but this now balaclava wearing bunch intent on violence and disruption has now gone too far and quite frankly you couldn't pay me enough to take my family to away games or even as we saw a few weeks ago even at our own stadium. This is now a world full of hatred, hiding their faces and now in club colours.

yes its the beautiful game alright but not off the field. yes, in the past we had arrests at Old Firm games mostly alcohol related but those young punks have now taken it to another level. I grew up in Glasgow with the housing schemes and their own gangs, Tongs, toi, etc but now its made its way into our game personally, subscription is the only answer and that may well be coming sooner than we all think. maybe for the best.

Pretty sure the late 70s, early 80s were far worse than today's wee neds.

From what I have seen, most nowadays seem to be young lads playing the part and putting on their costumes. Even the early nineties had a lot more general gang and football related violence, with stabbings every weekend.

Young folk now are a lot less likely to be into drinking and football or consider violence acceptable.

Lots more now are teetotal, into gym and eating good and more interested in looking good on social media. All levels of violent crime have been falling for years.

70s and 80s were worse, then the casual element of mid 80s was worse as well, to be fair. Learned from early on never to stand at front of terracing as you could be cracked with a bottle at any time, and that was from our own fans

The late 80s, early 90s, the era of the casuals, were a lot worse than today. Believe me.

Lads, I've written on here about it before. I was involved very late 80s and through 90s and these wee fuds going about now are playing at it.

We met in smaller numbers, miles away from the football, so the police didn't catch and stop us. These wee neds want attention on social media and are happy for the police to be there.

We made sure scarfers were nowhere near where we were.

I'm not saying it was right, but I'm just being honest.

I have been engaged in a few schools in Central Scotland to talk about gang violence etc and discourage knife crime especially.

I agree, guys, the wee neds of today think they're tough ?? they couldn't live with the yesteryear casuals etc of the 80's and 90's, and I'm only making an observation because I've witnessed it a good few times, and must also state I don't condone it, and as a Rangers supporter of many years now, I've never participated in football violence. ? ??

No Coops, but you don't half assault the ears on here. ???? Only kidding, bud. ?

Athole, you're not Mr Chugg, are you? Heard he was doing a bit of that a few years ago, along with coaching football.

I had never been involved with all the casual crap, but know a lot of the Motherwell ones from late 80s/90s, and it was worse back then. A hell of a lot worse. But that doesn't mean we accept the idiots of today.

Anyone causing bother at a game, or before or after it, should be banned.

The Motherwell causal book was actually written by a relation, and to my knowledge, he wasn't that involved in it at all, despite what his book says.

I'm not Paul but have met his acquaintance.

They only look intimidating, Deecee, and there is very rarely any violence at games now. These ultra groups are a joke, imagine going to the game armed with a pocket full of stickers to decorate the traffic lights and lamp posts, a few fireworks and a Spider Man mask.

Can't understand why our ultras all dress in black. If they are there to support the team, should they not all get matching blue outfits, not black ones.
