Anyone any info on Man City 60 point deduction?

29 Mar 2026 11:07:20
Been reading this - their lawyers have tried to have it all wrapped up in court for years, so they could get away with what they were doing.

It's about time they got what's coming to them. No offence to Man City fans in here.

But the amount of money they spend compared to most is ridiculous, in my opinion.
Wonder what players would stay with them if relegated, right enough.
And if Pep would stay?

Oh the drama. ?

Fork, it seems to be one journalist who is saying that, but been picked up by everyone else as lots ion everywhere about it.
I read a while back the supposed Spring announcement was being put back to the Summer so don't know if that has changed.

It would seem odd to do it now and not wait until then. Let City know and the appeals will start and hopefully be sorted for new season. ?

Any justice Manchester City won't be playing in the EPL next season, but think we all know it's very likely they will.

For what we "done" compared to them, they should be made to play in the conference. Star, right though, can't stand them or their football.

If they are found to have financially cheated and it's bad enough for a 60 point deduction, which is an effective relegation, then should the trophies they won during this period not be removed from them as well. No bias against City, I think Chelsea got off very light recently when they admitted secret payments to agents to allow them to buy the players that gave them their most successful era.

That, in fact, may be the basis of any appeal by City.

{Ed001's Note - they can't appeal on that basis because Chelsea self-reported an issue from a previous owner. They then complied fully with the investigation and admitted guilt from the start. Citeh are under the same ownership that cheated, they are denying it and refused to comply with the investigation, despite the Premier League contract being clear in allowing access to the Prem and FA to all the books. There is no basis on that front at all, you are making it up.}

Fork, correct mate, but that won't happen.

Wslgers, Chelsea's new owners told them that would help them, but what they did helped them win trophies as well.

You didn't get these sort of problems with our favourite English teams, My star, Newcastle United and Sunderland, mate. ?

29 Mar 2026 14:34:14
Sws, Need to win trophies for cheating and winning them, mate. Sunderland have been in difficult financial problems for years. Hopefully that's over now, hopefully in the EPL for years to come now.

Ed001, I'm not making anything up, I wasn't starting it as a fact or anything I had read, it was only my opinion.
I do understand the difference between the two cases but whether they admitted it or not the fact remains that Chelsea cheated to sign players to win trophies and a £10million fine is a very light punishment.It makes me think that they knew that would only get a monetary punishment if they fessed up.

City will fight a points deduction with everything they have got and bring up all these kind of discrepancies.They have the resources to tie the EPL up in lawsuits for years if they want to.

{Ed001's Note - it is not a discrepancy. It is standard legal practice to lessen the punishment when guilt is admitted and even more so when the guilty party self reports the crime.}

Do the same people say our trophies should be taken during the ebts? Was it cheating? It's a very fine line.
