With John sharing the info yesterday about us enquiring about signing Hearts forward Claudio Braga this summer, what's our thoughts on him. ? How many on here would want us to sign Braga and how much max should we pay Hearts to sign him. ?

I really like Braga myself but i wouldn't pay as high as a minimum of £7million to get him ? I think a fair price would be around the £5million mark with some add ons and Hearts receiving a 10% fee of anything we would sell Braga for in the future, what's all our thoughts fellow bears. ?

Would rather Kiziridis from Hearts.

20 Mar 2026 14:21:06
Not sure John actually named the player?
Just the price quoted for someone playing in Scotland.

If Hearts want £7M, and we see him as our number 1 target for the position, then we may have no choice but to pay it. Don't see Hearts accepting a lower price from a direct competitor. If Bowie is worth that and didn't score as many goals, I suspect an Italian team would be willing to pay around that price for Braga.

SWS, so to reverse the question, what would you consider a fair price for Manny, and assuming it is higher, why would that be the case?

They are top, and we are currently 3rd.

Mph, he did name him as Braga.

3/4 million max.

20 Mar 2026 14:31:26
Mph, John actually did name Braga much further down from the original post, mate. ???

20 Mar 2026 14:32:55
I do like Kaziridas also Paul but really rate and like Braga from what I've seen of him so far. ???

Not for me. Good player, but not at the price quoted. We would be better off finding similar quality at the price Hearts paid in the first place. There are several players in the league who look like they would do well for us. But would they be first-team starters? And would they be value for money? I see several who would be good squad players without breaking the bank.

Henderson and McCann at Falkirk, for example. And free cash to get one or two real game-changing players. But the powers that be will know the strategy and cash available.

3/4 million swso.

20 Mar 2026 15:19:37
I think it is great that Braga is doing well, but I must confess I would not be interested in him.

I wasn't interested in him when he was playing in the second tier here in Norway last season, and I am still not interested in him now.

I do like the Greek winger, though, and I feel he can progress very well.

20 Mar 2026 15:20:25
Suppose that's becoming the going rate for the top players here now. If it's 5m for lower Div in Germany, is that really too much to ask? The question really is how much he improves the team. I think he does.

20 Mar 2026 15:27:52
Kaiser, more to do with what Hibs were paid for Bowie as well, though. If Italian teams are willing to pay £6M for him, then why would Hearts and Motherwell not risk their hand for their players?

20 Mar 2026 16:05:24
Not sure they wouldn't sell him. Their model is no different from ours. They are a selling club, as we are.

They bought him for 400k. Selling him for £7M would be a huge statement and a massive win for Bloom and Jamestown Analytics.

I'm sure they have several low cost targets ready to step in. I'd rather we were as efficient as them rather than paying Hearts fortunes for finding talent.

20 Mar 2026 16:07:33
Apologies, troops. Never saw that.

20 Mar 2026 16:11:20
Why would Hearts accept £2 million less than Hibs got for Bowie when he outscored him?
Why would Hearts accept £1 million less than Rangers paid for a 3rd division striker?
Why would Hearts accept nearly a 1/4 of what Rangers were supposedly offered for Chermiti in January?
Teams are within their rights to hold out for as much as they can get.

20 Mar 2026 16:17:50
Exactly, Angus. They've also seen the likes of Miller and Ferguson move, and their values have rocketed. It's a good thing for Scottish football in the long run, just not for us trying to nick players on the cheap. Igamane had a decent season, and we wanted a massive profit. Fernandez has improved in the last 6 months, and we want mega money, so the one-season thing doesn't really wash either.

Motherwell and Hearts have had people over Europe talking about Scottish football for a change, so they are bound to want to cash in. And Tony Bloom is no mug, he's going to want to make as much as possible.

MPH, we overpaid for Naderi. He may come good next year, but we still 100%, and nothing will change my mind: we overpaid for him. The German 3rd division is not a great standard, and never will be.
