Would love to hear everybody's ideal summer, squad wise. For me personally, if we can replace our loans with similar quality to our january signings, and replace any non contributors with a few players from our own league, and a pre season under DR, we will be in a good place.

New RB and CB. Sign Meghoma if we can, but if not, sign a suitable understudy to Rommens. Sign Skov Olsen on a permanent deal, accept a similar bid that was alleged to have been made for Chermiti, sell Diomande and replace him, give Raskin a contract extension and the captain's armband, and a new contract for Souttar but in a backup role.

Not too much really. :)

Adios to Tav & Souttar.
2 new CHs.
Promote a couple of youngsters as understudies in the squad.
Tell Meghoma, thanks for the effort.
Sell Raskin.
Sell Chermiti.
Punt Miovski.
Punt Gassama.
New attacking midfielder.
See how Olsen turns out. Yet to be convinced he has the hunger or desire.
2 new strikers.
All of a decent level for our CL campaign.

Sell everyone we can for profit, barring Butland, Rommens, Naderi & Barron.

The build around these guys as best as possible.

New rb and cb and wingers are needed regardless.

Djiga's loan ends, thanks but no thanks.
Arrons, same, back down the road.
Tav, end of contract. See you later.
Souttar, end of contract after the World Cup.
Not sure who would want him; he makes too many mistakes.
Cornelis has been out so long, I forgot what he is like; believe it's an option to buy.

Raskin, we have cash in this summer, or extend his contract.
Miovski, try and get money back.
Chermiti, see how the rest of the season pans out.
Big Manny may be attracting attention; what value would we put on him?
Gassama, same, cash in.

17 Feb 2026 15:54:31
Tav, new deal on reduced terms and playing.
Souttar, new deal if same terms but as a back-up role.
Aaron's gone.
Djiga gone.
Cornielis gone.
Meghom, sign and/or alternative.
Raskin, sell after World Cup.
Gassama, sell if price is right.

Strikers, jury out till end of season on Miovski and Chermiti.
Sign 3, maybe even 4 centre halves.
Sign a rb.
Sign a 6.
Sign a box to box 8.
2 New wingers.
Moore back for another season.
More involvement for Curtis, etc.

If we get rid of everyone again and do a complete rebuild, we can say goodbye to next year's title as well. If we continue with these rebuilds, we never get past the start-up phase, rather than building on the players we have as a core.
Studies show that high player turnover has a direct effect on the number of points teams gather per match, as new players require time to adapt to a new league, culture, and teammates.

So we keep the core unless a huge offer comes in, or they refuse to re-sign and are in the last year of their deal. So replace the loans, those out of contract we don't want to keep (the club, not the fans ?). So Meghoma, Aarons, Djiga, Moore, and possibly Tav would be it as turnaround for me.
Sign ASO permanently, and decide on Cornelius.

Minimal turnaround gives us stability for next season.

Unfortunately, with so many loans and out of contract players, a big turnover is inevitable, especially if u also want to sell or replace any players. 2 new RBs, 1 new LB (I quite like Longelo), 2 new CBs, and a replacement for Moore would be the minimum needed.

17 Feb 2026 17:06:21
Meghoma Brentford value at 10 mill plus.
Djiga, Wolves paid over 10 mill. I do not rate him.
Aarons, Bournemouth rated over 10 mill.
Think we could do better.
Moore, hope we can arrange another loan, but it is going to be costly.

Cornelius, I don't mind if it was just an option to buy or an obligation.
So I hope recruitment have done their homework and are not banking on CL money.

Surely we need to have some form of continuity and keep the core of our squad.
What loan signings do we sign on a permanent basis? As we cannot try and rebuild every season.
Great to see Chukwuani, Naderi, Rommens added to the squad and Olsen brought in on loan.

17 Feb 2026 18:04:30
Tav out, thanks for the memories.
Matondo out, thanks for the goal against the Tic.
Miovski, sell for as much as we can get.
Kelly will leave at the end of the season.
Bajrami, like him but just not working so sell.
Rice, assuming he will move on, but like him.
Cifuentes, get what we can for him.
Cortes, get what we can for him.
Sterling, favourite player but made of glass and we can not continue him only able to play a third of games each season and getting paid a fortune, so sell if we can (injury record might make that difficult).

Meghoma, return to parent club. Liked him to begin with, but now looks pretty average.
Djiga, return to parent club. Not as bad as is made out.
Aarons, return to parent club.
Cornelius, not sure, quite liked him before his injury.
Moore, return to parent club, can not see an extension to the loan, and I am sure it is costing us a small fortune.

That is potentially 13 players out, albeit some are not at the club at the moment.

Sign ASO on a perm deal. Need a GK, 2 x RB, CH, CM, LB, wide player, and another striker. 3-4 starters out of that number. Would like to see 2 or 3 youngsters pushing for first team mins who might avoid us going to market for some of these players, e.g. Glasgow. Assume Curtis will return.

The worry then is what if we get offers for the likes of Dio and Raskin. Would like Souttar extended, but if not then another CH would be required.

Overall, it still looks like quite significant change to the playing squad this summer anyway, largely because of all the loans, not a rebuild as such but work to be done. I think we have a better core. Butland, Souttar, Fernandez, Rommens, Chuki, Raskin, Barron, Dio, ASO, Aasgaard, Naderi, Chermiti, Antman, Gassama. Maybe Cornelius is the backup LB.

17 Feb 2026 18:30:13
Kaiser, I don't see the 6 you list as being that much of a squad rebuild again, though compared to previous seasons and what some others are suggesting (all about opinions though). If you also think that the lb will probably be backup, and one of the rbs and one of the cbs the same, then there is no huge shift in the starting 11, possibly.

This gives time for new guys to settle.
