Was reviewing the player heatmaps from the game at the weekend and something caught my eye.
Chukwuani spent a lot of time slotted in on the left hand side of the back three.
I'd noticed Raskin splitting Souttar and Fernandez a lot to crate the 3 at the back, and also Sterling/ Tav stepping inside to RCB to create the 3.
But during the game I didn't notice Chukwuani doing this on the left.
The level of fluidity that Rohl has embedded in the team already is pretty impressive.

There was a lot of talk about Raskin playing in that role, and his passing wasn't on point.
He is a dynamic player, and the No. 6 role is not where his strength lies.
Hopefully, we are looking to address that in the summer with a player who is an intelligent passer that can start the play.
I feel, at times, our central defenders have the ball too much, and we need to move it quicker to our better passers.

I think we look far better when a centre half or sitting mid drives with the ball, drawing players towards them, creating more space in the channels, pulling players out wide, and leaving more space for strikers.

Rangers Review got a good YouTube episode on the formation of the game. The formation def got us more players in and around the box, worth a watch.

Good info ehl.

More players around the box, and our striker scores more. Same sort of thing with Killie and QP game as well. Hopefully the start of this every week.

It's an interesting point, Ehl. I can't say I noticed this at all watching the game live.

Ehl, more interesting for me (not sure if it's on your heat map) was Sterling playing up front at times during the first half when Raskin dropped back.
I have seen this a few times now from Rohl; normally when he plays 3 at the back, but it was interesting to see him still do it with the back 2. I suppose with Raskin it was a 3.
For all the praise he's been getting, I seriously hope he studies what Motherwell are doing, tries to understand it a bit better, and maybe even copies it to some extent.
The ease at which they break the lines is very impressive.
I still think we struggle to get the ball up the park at times, especially from defence into midfield.

Ehl, re Zikos post about adventurous FBs. Was that what you were saying re the Motherwell game, where our FBs weren't brave enough? I think that was what you said; apologies if it wasn't exactly that. So, can we expect our FBs to be doing that more often, and our DMs dropping in to cover?

Ryan Jack did this a lot in Europe under Gio when Tav went forward.
